locked out of my max.....kinda

Tonight I went to get into my max and leave my friend's house....and see, last winter my door locks did the same thing...no matter how i turned the key, it still never disabled the security system...but it did unlock the doors. anyways, after putting lock de-icer in the lock, and breaking one key off in the door, and pulling it out with pliers, i had a friend take me to my house and get another key, then after trying some more...i just got a BLOW DRYER, heated up the keyhole (thus heating the lock mechanism) and the key worked like a charm on the first try.

Just wanted to let everyone know in case anyone else has this problem?

same problem here, every winter I carry some deicer in my jacket. Had the key thing happen twice. A lock smith told me my key was to worn and thats also why the lock feels loose. Not this winter the max is stored and getting rebuilt.

dont know if graphite would work....cuz the key is fine, and the tumblers are fine...its the actual mechanism, or the door lock sensor that isnt registering the full unlock.
