Had and still have the same issue. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....imple+no-start
You unplugged the alarm box itself, or just the relay?

I had this same problem and took the door apart one day to see what's up. There is a magnetic switch that rotates with the key. Once to disarm, twice will send the signal to unlock all doors. Anyway the switch where the magnet passes over is potted (filled with epoxy) so there's no way of resoldering anything. Sometimes a nice punch next to the key cylinder will persuade it to work. Basically you need a new key lock switch.

I tried that already and it does not work, the light does not take 30 sec to come on after locking...my light comes on as soon as the key is turned to shut the car off...anything I can do?
Ever since I've owned my car it has had a similar problem. First of all, using the key on the driverside door rarely keeps it unlocked. It tends to re-lock immediately. I usually have to pull the handle while unlocking. Turning the key twice unlocks all doors, and then relocks them. I usually just use the key code. It's easier than trying to time the key turns.

Yep... that's why I love ours. I just find it weird that 3 different spots on the driver's door alone controls ALL the doors. Though I loved joking with the wife... I would thump the lock down with my elbow down as she tried to get out.

On a similar note, my 93's driver's door will not open. Period. No results from using the key, the interior or exterior door handle or trying to raise the lock.
To get to the mechanism it looks like I have to destroy the door panel since the forward fasteners are concealed by the left edge of the dashboard.
Anybody else have this experience? And are we talking about the same defective parts here as earlier in the thread?
Thanks for any help!
