Replacement muffler suggestion- 94 gxe

My Maxima's muffler is rusting out. Any suggestions for replacement? Can be stock. Are muffler chains like Meineke or Midas safe to go to, or any other places recommended? Price range? Do they just have some generic mufflers to weld in? Thanks in advance.

Generic replacements are fine if all you want is a regular muffler.
Midas, Meineke, Fair all have generic universal mufflers they can put in.
BUT they will most probably try to sell you a cat back, because from the factory it's all one welded piece.
my advice is to call around for pricing but check to make sure your pipe is still good too
You can also do what I did, I just had them weld up a cat back for $50 (no muffler at all

that would be a little loud with no muffler I would think.

There's a good place up there in North KC. Believe it's called Seeburg Muffler, right on a corner off the main strip there. Check em out, I'm sure they'll get you a good deal. Forget meineke/midas, most of the guys there can't weld.

If the rest of your piping is bad, get a B-pipe from Warpspeed and get it all welded up.
