direct fit mirrors.....

I was working on the max last night and i looked over at my 240sx......the mirrors are basically the same on both cars (92 and 92)....... so in the near future, im gonna try ordering some 240 mirrors and sticking them on the maxima....woul probably take a little modification because the front corner of the plastic bracket on the max is round, and its a sharp corner on the 240, but not different by much.

Any Thoughts?

I guess my question is this. With as similiar as they look, why go to the bother?? are teh 240 mirrors supposed to make ur Max faster or will it work better to pick up the chicks? I personally think of those two pictures that the Max mirrors look better, seem to fit better and just look cleaner.. just my 2 cents :-)

I think he means to find aftermarket 240sx mirrors and make them fit.

Sure why not. I thought I have seen ones already made for the Maxima b4.

Such as M3 style. Check fleabay lately?

The first pic is my factory 1992 nissan maxima SE mirror....the second pic is my factory 1992 nissan 240sx SE mirror.......the 240 has a less streamlined mirror bracket. But what i am looking into is if the aftermarket mirrors for the 240 would fit on the maxima without too much difficulty....just a different option for the maxima.

NO it won't make it faster (who would think that but a kid?)
NO it won't help pick up the chicks (who cares but the kids?)

I'm just trying to find some different mirror options for the 3rd gen max....everyone puts bimmer lights in theirs, the stillen kit, and all these other "customizations" that, might i add, aren't so custom if everyone has them. So is there a problem with me trying to 'pioneer' a new idea for the 3rd gen?

Any problems with the idea, just dont take the time to respond to the thread unless you have some positive criticism, please.

Aww, I'm 10 years older than you are.. so I'm most definitely not a kid. I was just making a light hearted comment, ment no harm.. I understand what you are trying to do now that someone mentioned the aftermarket portion of it. as for girls and speed, are either of those two bad things??. and yes, my 8 year old son used to think things like that made a car faster, when he was about 4 anyhow.. I wasnt trying to stir up anything and ment no disrespect by my post, so please dont read anything more into it.. it's all good.. Were all here for the same reasons and if you find something that works for you, I'd say good deal.

Like you said, it's all good,we're all here for the same reasons....Maxima!

and honestly for such an old car like ours to have the nice blue tinting on the mirros is pretty friggin cool....there are tons of high end 06 model year vehicles that still consider that an option
