delaware valley rust recall help

do where have u folks had the most luck with this thing in the area....
so fat i've gotten everything from local dealers from "there is no such recall" to "your vin is not a real vin"

800-nissan-1 has spent the last half hour looking for a vin range on the recall and can't verify that it had been performed already

new jersey is a salt state so the recall does apply to your car....ill try and dig up the old threads about this.. but if someone can search go for it and save me lots of time

dude no .. please...
i'm all spent on reading and searching for this crap...i'm all data'd out
i have the docs..the definition of a salt state...the perforation areas..the fuel concerns
the seat belt anchor concerns
everything

i just can't get nissan usa to admit that there is a recall
and that my vin exists ...but then they go back and say that there's no vin range for the recall

and i'm like if u understood the nature of the recall u'd understand that there can't be a vin range....it's afriggin design issue not a manufacturing issue

ok so 2 hours later i got transferred back to the mainland and was advised that i have to get the car evaluated at a dealer...that would be easy if the dealers acknowledged that such arecall existed - but they all deny it. so what do u think they're gonna say when they look at the max?

what i'm trin to find is if anyone in delaware, south east PA or jersey has had this repair done.

i understand that one possible resolution is to apply a "chemical blanket" of sorts over the area under the bottom of the rear bench...i think i have something like this but it looks like regular sound deadening mastik...i should probably just post pics to be more coherent

when you go to the dealership..... you tell them you spoke with headquarters and argue to them that this MUST be done for FREE!!!! because it is a safety hazard!! i forget the head dude at nissan... but if someone remembers his name..... tell the dealership his name and theyll change really fast

I think you should pull up a recall notice, I think I found that by googling around, and its also available on the highway safety comission website or something like that, print it out, have your BBB number handy on your cellphone, and be ready to argue like hell to get your point across.

where are you in south jersey, if you are around the cherry hill area, there is a dealer there that you can try, I know they won't give a crap about a 15+ years old car, but if you bother them enough to the point that customers start to notice, they might do something for you, since the area is tailored to upper middle class, but from my experience, the parts department guys are quite friendly, don't know about their service department. Also, if you use 38 and travel well past morrestown mall, there is also a nissan dealer there, I haven't visited there personally, just drove by a few times, but just letting you know that there is one there. Hope things works out for you man.
