Road Tripping to get my 5-Speed!

Well, I just got back from a 2 day ordeal of harvesting a manual tranny for my swap from a junkyard 250 miles from the 'rents house and over 600 miles from where my Maxima is! Me and a friend got there around 5:00 during a downpour and decided to wait til today. After 7 hours or grueling tranny pulling from a smashed-in-front donor car, I finally have my tranny! Also got to meet a fellow Org member, first time that's happened! The highlight was when we took a shortcut by cutting off both axles with a torch! It's done now, but I hope I never have to coax a tranny out of a junkyard car ever again!

and perhaps that's the reason the tranny was acting up after you got it all together..

I met geoff.doctor in Kalamazoo...It was late and I had had enough tranny-pulling fun for the day and forgot to grab the flywheel and shifter assembly.

Glad you got it ok, my friend is a little pissed as he was going to pull it, but he could have got the money sooner if he wanted it. I got your PM and the flywheel and access cover are in my trunk.

Why'd it take you 7 hrs? Was the front end smeared over that bad?
