The door lock timer is most likely the cause of your lock trouble...Just replace it...

It is fairly simple to get to it....You got to take off the panel under the steering wheel to access the unit..It is to the right of the steering wheel behind the panel...

where are you going to get the timer from?
i'd say first resodder the board i did mine last week and my locks are back to working fine now, just an idea to save you a few bucks and if you were going to get one from the junkyard i would say definatly try this first.

yes; finally fixed mine a few weeks ago. the hardest part is removing the bottom dash part...which isnt hard at all.

as i said before, the connection was bad at the same pole as the one used in the write up with pictures (look very carefully..youll wonder why you missed it once you see it); solder became grainy and non conductive according to temperature outside. seems to be a common problem.

one of the easiest fixes for such a great payoff (i love using the keypads now!)

Have to jack another thread since I CANNOT SEARCH or POST A NEW THREAD
^ Any help with that would be great.......

But here's my question:
I'm trying to reprogram the code for keyless entry. I got the number from the "digital touch entry control unit" behind the glovebox - the middle number sequence of the 3 lines engraved on the unit.....
Can anyone tell me exactly how to reprogram it? I don't know the current code. I had a Nissan technician explain it once, but he was very unsure and when I went home to try it, his method didn't work. Thank you very much!

Just wanted to thank everyone for this thread. I've been having on and off problems with by power locks for years and have just kind of ignored it. After seeing this thread, I pulled out the door lock timer and checked the circuit board. At first, everything looked fine, but then I pulled out a magnifying glass and found a crack all around one terminal. I resoldered it and - voila - I have power locks again. Thanks.

quick & easy fix! Did mine last weekend and love being able to lock my doors again!

i had never worked on soldering a circuit board & did this fine - works like a charm!

definately worth the litte bit it took to unbolt the bottom panel and pull the board and resolder it - didn't cost a thing!
