I'm glad my state doesn't test emissions, inspect vehicles, or anything else of the sort. Then again, if they did, the roads around here would be wide open!

except its supposed to come on when you start the car, if they look close enough and it doesnt come on, then they could investigate and get you for that.

check the fuse maybe....

i just got back from motor vehicle and they didnt even look at the dash for any lights. i passed without a problem. My 97se on the other hand, when i took that car to motor vehicle a couple months ago it failed because of a check engine light even though emissions and everything eelse was fine.

Got the same problem, it keeps blinking. Maybe someone with experience fixing this can chime-in.

Thanks!

I know in New York if your check engine light is on they suppose to NOT start the inspection or charge you cause youll automatically fail. Some like to get over and dont say anything.

There is a way to reset the airbag light. It will probably come back but it is worth a try. open the door and turn the ignition to ON (not start) within 7 seconds of turning the ign on press the driver's door button 5 times. ( the little rubber covered button in the door frame) Turn the ign off, then start car.

I'm having a related problem. Last week, the airbag light on my 93 SE lit up. At the same time, the automatic seatbelts stopped working when the ignition is in the off position and my clock memory doesn't work (and is suddenly VERY dim, when you can see it at all). As soon as you turn the key, the automatic seatbelt starts working again and the clock starts keeping time at 12:00. The airbag light stays on. I'm assuming that somewhere the always on power is shorted or something. Anyone have any experience with this or any ideas where to start looking. Or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely? Anyone have wiring diagrams for these systems?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Sounds like you blew your "Electron Batt" fuse.
