so after reading about the search results about bad harnesses and faulty sensors and such i don't think that i'm any closer to a solution.
here's how it all went down....
it was a cold stormy night...the sea was angry...
no but really, the car wouldn't start up. battery didn't charge up due to oem postive terminal having corroded to nothingness.
got it jumped and drove home. replaced the terminal and tried to start but obviously it wouldn't because the batt was never being fully charged on the way home after being jumped.
jumped the car again w/ new shiny terminal and started to drive down the block. musta looked like a first time manual tranny driver cause the car was bucking like a bronco. anything over 5 or 10 mph and the abs light would come on and the system would lock up the brakes and then release. this also happened in reverse.
so i SLOWLY drove home and pulled the 2 fuses for the abs and drove it again just to be sure the terminal issue was resolved. it was and the charging system is whole again.
of course now the abs light is on all the time. considering that the issue arose after no tinkering with the brake system, i'm perplexed.
did i fubar the abs electronics with all the batt jumping?
or is the most coincidental sensor failure ever?

disconnect the negative terminal for a coupe hours and see if that helps..... if not my old car has ABS.. but the sensors were bad so the tires just locked up.. so the sensors were bad.... try getting new sensors.. they are on the wheel hubs pointing towards the axle

well u had the right thought slickblack94!!
popped the fuses back in and VOILA!!
so after i replaced the terminals on the batt and tried to start'er up and failed, there obviously wasn't enough juice in the batt. when i jumped the batt and started the car, it must have not had enough juice to allow the abs to function correctly. after a few 10 - 20 mile drives, i popped the fuses back in and all was well with the world.
thanks again peeps
