THink about it though...
A new 1992 Lincoln Towncar was $31,211 - $36,340.
and
a new 1992 GXE Loaded was $20,425 - $21,490.
Add a schnazzy roof and some rims and bling bling.... you got a $2000 option that makes you look like an old folks car on a jap budget.

You kids are too funny.
That car has all of the mods circa 1992.
The roof is actually called a "phantom top" and it was a very popular cosmetic mod back in the day. Almost every town had a shop that did that kind of work. The "phantom" refers to it being a fake convertible. Notice the trim around the bottom even has fake snaps like the top has a boot for when it's down.
A lot of lowrider trucks at my high school had a phantom top or made the hard top removeable, so it was a true convertible.
Those wheels would have been better than stock back in 1992. I was lucky enough to get some Enkei BBS clones on my car, but most of my friends were rocking the 15-inch "5 star" mags like that.
It is surprising with those mods that the car doesn't have a Kenwood pullout deck with an old Zapco amp and some Punch 15" subs

haha I am glad I am not the only old fart that remembers those things. I was out of school when it hit but remember seeing those things and even knew a guy that owned a shop that did them. I hated the look then and still do.
apparently im the only one who thinks the top looks good/doesnt mind it, id take that car over my current ve5spd right now, hope icanfind one of those tops id put it on mine in a heartbeat, and leather/ACC *drool*

shame on you. Leather and ACC are fairly easy things to add to your VE5...yet a VE5 swap into an ugly car is not so easy.
Those tops just like the vynal tops of old are prone to rust under them. Stay away...stay far away.
