I found a small oil leak while under my car today. It is coming from something on the pasenger side about a foot into the engine perpendicular to the wheel. If it is just an oil seal than it should be fairly cheap to get fixed right? Or does it sound like it could be worse and more expensive? Has any one else had oil leak problems they had fixed?

If it's engine oil and if it's the rear main seal, then NO, it will not be cheap to replace. It's not that common but it does happen. Cost est about $300.

If it's on the passenger's side, it's the FRONT main seal most likely..

I'm going to assume you have a VG engine.. In order to replace the seal, you'll have to remove the crank pulley and the timing belt to get to it. The crank pulley isn't bad, but the timing belt is a PIA to remove, and will cost around $400 for the job because of it. $400 to replace a $3 part. fun.

If the leak isn't bad, I recommend just waiting until you replace the timing belt at your next 60k mile mark. it'll cost you about $10 over the cost of the belt replacement this way.
