i was crusing down a parkway, i hear some loud noise car comes near me and slows down, i look at it and its an old RX7 like 87 or whatever it was the one before the new shape. It had some signs on his door and dual look expensive exhaust. there were cars in front of us, so he revs his engine. And i dont bother ,because there is no where to go, so hi a little in front of me. Then I see an opening. so i downshift and peel out in 2nd gear and beat him, but thats because he wanst ready,(I think)then we see 2 open lanes so he pulls in the one and slows down and waits till i come near him. I come near him in 2 nd gear at about 35mph-40. as soon as he tried to press on the gas dump the clutch and gas pedal to the metal. I think he really liked my nice tail lights. So at the red light he pulls up next to me and sais so u have nitrous or something, cause he saw my 3 gauges i guess he assumed i have nitrous or whatever. I smile and say "no,no nitrous! So he goes very nice car. And pulls away (looser!!!!!!!!!)

 

What are the guages for then? On the A-Pillar, Im assuming?

 

1. Oil Pressure
2. Fuel Pressure
3. Oil Temp
4. Water Temp. (my oroginal gauge doesnt feel like working all the time so I had to get this one)
5. Walt meter

 

was it like this? there must have been something pretty messed up about his car if you smoked him that bad. first of all the wankel engine isnt loud at all, even with exhaust. my brother had dual exhaust on his and it made basically no noise, even at WOT. if his car was that loud it must have been pretty ragged out. my brother used to kill si's in this, and it was pretty much stock.

 

anywhere from 16.5-17.4(as ususal give or take a few tenths), but I guess the fastest N/a would be the '84 GSL-SE, hey james was your brother's turbo or N/a??

his was n/a, but he did have exhaust on it. those times seem a little slow to me. his was an 88 SE N/A, and at the track he ran a 15.1 with the exhaust. you can literally bolt on 30 hp with an exhaust on those. the stock piping is sooo restrictive.

 

I'd say the guy was most likely picking on you BECAUSE of your taillights.. stuff like that is just asking for trouble, and laughs from the rest of the people out there.

 

But they look like Skyline lights! LOL

I dont know what he had. probably non turbo or maybe a turbo but he just didnt know how to drive it. And it was pretty loud. He cought up but never passed me.
