Probably my Pioneer P9 Combo (DEX-P9 and DEQ-P9, deck and processor as one HU). Suggested retail for the DEX-P9 is $1280 and retail for the DEQ-P9 is $840. The total would be $2020 but of course I didn't pay ANYWHERE near that price since I bought it used from EBAY.

I don't have anything too special, but I've seen some with LCD touchscreens in the dash.

Yeah, I was going to mention that someone probably has me beat with in dash touch screen HU. I think that having "TV" in your your car is more of a BLING factor than anything else. Everyone I know that has a screen in their car hardly even uses it. Although, it would be nice for road trips and personally, I'd love to have navigation.

The P9 is hardly old school. My HU won't play mp3's either, nor will the Denon R1. For the Russian unit, as far as I know, they still aren't available in the states, but Elemental Designs has a group buy going supposedly for $500 shipped. I really wanna pick one up.

no, when i say old school, I meant that you likes the sound quality and none of the newer "high tech" multimedia stuff.

That's a very good price for all of those features. Good luck getting it and hopefully you like it (I'm sure you will).

That's what I thought you meant too. I am "old school" and I HATE MP3 (except when I play them on the computer through sh!ty speakers). I like to make people laugh at the fact that my HU cost alot of money but it doesn't even play mp3's. LOL

You got my respect there man, none of my previous HU could play mp3 either, but since I'm pretty much a young kid, I tend to demand the latest stuff, and you guess it... an mp3 capable player.

Kraco 8-track. I love it when the track changes in the middle of a song.
I bet most of you have never heard one.

Kind of want to use an Eclipse AVN-7000 in my Mustang, or just reuse my 5423 lol.

First was a KEH-P7200 with a DEQ-9000 EQ/crossover. combo was approx $1000.

second setup was scrapping both of thsoe with a Premier DEX-P1R... new retail was approx $900 on it.. also added a CDX-P600 (I think) changer in it. about $500 new.

that was 2 channel, 3 way, EQ/time alignment and 7 CDs. no MP3, no video, no surround, dead-head (no built-in amps).
4 Precision Power amps, four 13" Focal subs, two 6.5" Focal mids, two 1" tweets.

total retail cost, about $7800.. HU setup was $1400 retail.

Matt, how is the rebuild of your car going? Or are your wife still on your case about it, like maxitech stated, glad to see you back in the forum. Any future project planned for the 3rd gen?

I am not overly sure of retail now since it did go down since the release of the 2 new models..

Nakamichi CD-400 ... no mp3s, 2 colors, black aluminum .. beautiful... Oh wait I also have a denonford 8240 here too.

I do however plan on moving up to the Nakamichi CD-700II ..
