ebay y-pipe

Hey guys. i was looking for WSP pipes on ebay and came accross this one.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-01...spagenameZWDVW

i dont think i want to just buy an "ebay" pipe, but the price is pretty good. i kno it wont be as good as a Warpspeed pipe but would it be any worse than the stock pipe?? has anyone delt with these pipes before? if so what do you think.

Thanks
Tony

If you want a y-pipe, bite the bullet and get a Warpspeed. Do it once, do it right.

Its garbage
Awful fitment

Actually to do it once and right, you should get a cattman or CE, those are the only two without complaints

Not familiar with CE, and Cattman doesn't make one for ours cars. Parts for our rides are a little harder to find than for you 4th gen boys.

What is the difference between a cheapo off brand and warpspeed? They all do the same thing.

The stock y pipe is very restrictive=less flow....Warpspeeds y pipe is designed to flow better=more power...

the ebay one looks like it has that extra piece so it could possibly fit, but don't think it will do much more than the stock Y-pipe.

Thats weird, it looks like they tried to make it for fed and cali spec...if it was for a 4th gen, I don't know anything about 3rd gens, just that they have a better rear suspension

I have a Cattman y-pipe on my 3rd gen and I think Jeff92SE had one, as well

I imagine they just don't make them anymore, due to lack of demand and much more demand for newer stuff.

the fact that is says it fits ALL maximas 89-01 should throw up red flags like no other, just go with the WSP one.

look ing at it closer it also says its mandrel bent but the bend after the flex section looks like a pressure bend to me but maybe it is just the shininess of it, either way its probably not going to fit right or perform as well.

that's a typo... looking at the picture, that's a Y pipe from a 5th gen with VQ30.... which is 99-2001 production dates.

VG, VE, 4th gen, and 5th gen pipes all look completely different from each other, and there's absolutely no way any of them will fit the other cars due to exhaust, chassis, and suspension design.

How is yours holding up? I had to replace my crappy flex section 3 times because it was too short/stiff. It kept breaking. Finally I hacked it off myself, welded in a 8" long version and used a 4 gen high flow cat (shorter) and welded everything up custom. THAT worked (and still works) beautifully.

I haven't had any problems to date with the pipe, but I have driven it maybe 5k miles in the three years I've had it. Since it hangs down below the frame, I have scraped it pretty good, though. If I keep the car a while, maybe in a couple of years I will buy the newer version of the warpspeed.

I do have an exhaust leak, but it sounds like it is coming from the back portion -- somewhere past the cat. I couldn't see too well, but I was thinking it was a gasket. When I put in the new tranny, I was going to inspect everything while it was on the rack.
