Yay fuel injecter O-rings blew and sprayed gas all over my engine bay. Gotta take it all apart AGAIN. Any advice on taking the new fuel inecter out smoothly without breaking the plastic housing for the electrical plug?

related question: in the process of replacing the #1 injector - when I
pulled the intake collector (manifold) I had quite a bit of oil in it.

other that the obvious replacement of the PCV valve - does the fact I run
20-50 Castrol contribute to the amount of oil I found.

spent better than three hours (dialup modem) researching the effects of running the heavier oil on the "maintaince portion" portion of this site but
found nothing regarding it. recall seeing someone post a remark about
"heavy oil" but was unable to find it.

car has 129,000 miles - when I pulled the front valve cover - it was very
clean on top of the head.

any ideas?

[QUOTE=eddyb2600].... I run
20-50 Castrol QUOTE]

stop running 20w50 asap...you engine was designed for 5w30 or 10w30 in warmer places...I ruined one vg engine already by running such thick oil...

How do you "blow" injector o-rings? Are you lubing them with vaseline first or putting them dry? If you put them in dry, you run the risk of tearing/binding them. Thus creating leaks.

my friend put the new injecter in and was a retard and thought the bottom one looked fine. even thoguh i had new ones. so i said w/e and drove off and it was fine. (threw out new ones thinking i didnt need them) got about 10 miles then car stalled out(automatic) found dripping from engine looked and it was injecter. took engine apart at my house. found the bottom one in 2 pieces and the top was shredded. the bottom one blew which caused the new top to break. sigh* i got bad luck with engine stuff. i do stereos lol.
