Attn anyone who knows or has BODYKITS

I'm thinking of adding a front lip/spolier to my 89 MAX (burgundy on burgundy) (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2069212), but I don't want one of those that looks like it doesn't belong on the car at all; I'd like one that fits the contours and everything else nicely. For example, I have a 97SE (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/807830) with a STILLEN front lip, and I love it. Its design looks as though it came from the factory. Anyway, I'm not too crazy about STILLEN's design for the 3rd gen, so I wanted to know if there's anyone out there who can suggest some nice kits/front spoilers and provide a link, or even better, some personal photos of theirs. STILLEN's site also has a XENON one, but the pictures are really crappy. Opinions? Pictures? Anything would be great, thanks...

hmm well I am confused here. You say you want one that matches the contour and shape of the car but you dont like the Stillen .

To each his own but no other front lip flows with the design of the 3rd gen as well as the Stillen IMO. The WW kit is nice but getting one may be difficult...its a little more squared off though but does look good.

Good luck finding you something you like...I dont think many on here have anything but the Stillen and WW (come to think of it I think Goon is the only one with a WW anymore). There is one other front lip that looks pretty good but I dont know who makes...it I think it may be one of the Xenon kits. There is a blue maxima with the kit on cardomain but sorry I cant remember who it is...I am sure someone will point it out. I will try to find it in my favorites.

anyway here is my old car with the STillen kit...looks better on my car than the one on Stillen's site.

OK here is the guy that had the other front lip I would consider...its the Erebuni kit (type 111) not the Xenon one...he doesnt have the front listed on his site but by changing the number of the one he has listed I found one.

That kit is also made by Sarona. You can get it for $600 on www.custommaxima.com Though it's not really a kit, but bumper extension, and 6 pieces as well. I'm getting that. The only other kit is a Sarona/Erebuni/Kaminari design which looks totally gay.

If the kit isn't urethane like the Stillen is, you will regret putting a fiberglass kit on your car sooner or later. One mistake and the pieces shatter like glass.

the one good thing about fiberglass is that it can be repaired if its a small or medium crack or tear...of course I dont know first hand but have read. Fiberglass is something I have yet to mess with. You can repair urethane but I think it harder to do. i still havent finished Craigs front lip that got ripped.

Urethane takes the small things better though I imagine like bumping another car or running up on a curb. With urethane it will just bend with fiberglass it will chip or break.

you have any problem with the front lip sagging down in the middle. Yours is straight across, but mine comes down a little bit in the middle

I didnt when I had it. My bumper was secure at the bottom though. I have noticed a lot of people take the piece off that secures that bottom lip to the metal and that causes the bumper to move in that area.

Also I used good 3m tape to hold it to that very bottom lip of the bumper...it was solid as a rock and never came off and was hard to take off when I took it off for PA when he bought it.

mine doesnt sag down....my first lip went STRAIGHT across with no problem, but my new one is curved UPWARDS in the middle....from the tension. I'm going to create a ''splitter'' out of the old lip to keep it from sagging or curving upwards, sometime soon anyways....will update you guys when i do it.

Yet Another Kit

There IS another kit available other than the Erebuni or Kaminari.

http://www.spoilersetc.net/Default.htm

http://www.spoilersetc.net/Nissan/maxima-8994.htm

The first link is the homepage. The 2nd is the link straight to the kit.

It is a 4 piece kit that has basically a lip that mounts higher on the bumper, and requires some trimming to remove portions of the stock bumpers, but it's look is truly one of a kind. (LoL At this point in time, the only one I've seen other than the above link is MINE!)

Their price is $585 +shipping.

I'm a site N00B just getting the word out!

That kits front end is probably the ugliest but I've gotta hand it to the n00b for his first post actually having some thought in it.

I own a Erebuni kit. It’s the green one on post number #4. Believe it or not I got the darn thing in the bone yard here in St. Louis lucky me. One of the side skirts was damaged and the rest had a few scratches. Gave the guy 75 bucks and she went home with me. After a little patching, sanding, primer and paint I finally got her on my ride. Stepped back for a second to look at my work and decided that MF is ugly as hell. My X said it reminded her of the Mustang 5.0 body design. Anyway only had the thing on for about 2months or so and found out the front lip sits a little to low for parking curbs and you can not get the darn thing on the alignment rack because of the incline(again front lip to low). It’s now hanging on the wall in my garage. The front has a crack right down the center. Buy at you own risk!!!

Check ebay...there was a company that worked with a member on here to make what they called a skyline kit. It was horrible looking IMO but you may like it.

You can contact body shops that are familiar with fiberglass and ask how much to make you a kit or take an existing on and modify it to fit.
