those are a little pricey...Get one for a 90-93 honda accord and it will do the same thing. The filter is the part that matters, buy a K&N cone to go with it.
If you want a mod that actually does something get a warpspeed y-pipe.

reuse the factory intake tube, just get a dremil and hollow it out and get rid of the raveld edges, also cut off the resonator and plug it up and seal it.
get a filter adpter for the MAF
and your set.

upgrading the y-pipe won't give you a whole lot more power but it does help the entire sound effect that you are looking for i have a CAI, HKS style foam filter (i know i need to upgrade), upgraded y-pipe, upgraded CAT, 2.5" mid pipe and a Metrix muffler and frankly it sound great, it sound like a sport car and not like some hopped up lawn mower

i guess i could have phrased my earlier post better but never claim it didn't make any difference but as far as all exhaust add ons they all claim to produce a lot of HP but has any one ever dynoed a 3rd gen max and have #'s to prove it? I not arguing that it don't help but i have trouble believing the #'s that a lot of companies claim. Some claim 20 hp some only claim 5-10 hp gain. Which ones right?

For those of you who didn't go all out and get a CAI and just got a cone filter to put on your existing tubing...where did you get a MAF adapter? I found some on eBay like this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/87-94...QQcmdZViewItem). Does this look like what I need? I emailed Jeff with an item like this a while ago asking his opinion and he said according to the dimensions on the page it is too small, but that could very well be a generic picture. After all its only $9.50 total after shipping. I know Cattman sells one on their site but thats $40 and I wasn't planning on spending that for the adapter.

Eh... intakes are overrated without boost. Just take out your resonator if you want a little more grunt from it.

Remove the plastic pipe, you'll need something hot like a soldering iron or something, or a hacksaw to remove the big box from the pipe. Inside there is a small 1-2" hole that you can cover over with a piece of plastic from what you just removed and epoxy it on. An alternative is to just replace the pipe with some metal pipe, but this is cheaper.

Cone filter should sound nice, but plugging off the resonator will help out more.

Hey vans, what intake are you talking about? You mean just a filter attached to the MAF, or something like a CAI, although I doubt those will ever be $20.

for the VG motor, you can use the 1990-1993 honda accord intake on ebay, and itll work with very little cutting, if not any....they go for about $12 plus shiping

Are there any intakes or intake mods (resonator removal) that have any dyno numbers? I'm not asking this in a smart-a$$ way. I would just rather have a couple more HP instead of just sounding cool. And NO i haven't checked the stickies, YET.
