Is the Tokico Intrax setup really that bad?

I have heard stories of peoples tokico shocks/struts failing after 40k? Is this in combination with OEM springs? I have always been under the impression that Tokicos are a good shock for the money. I have previously had KYB AGX on my 95 max (w B&G springs) would anyone have the knowledge to compare these two so I know what I am looking at in terms of ride quality?

I have eibachs and one of my tokico struts blew in less than two weeks. At least I got a free strut from tokico.

I have done a fair amount of research on 3rd gen suspension setups and if you are looking for performance, it seems Koni is the way to go. I've heard just as many negative responses to tokico as I have heard good ones. The only thing people say about Koni is that they rock!

Intrax = 2" lowering = makes the shock bottom out = hard on shock/strut = makes them leak = failure

So would Tokico/Eibach be a better solution? The situation is, I am committed to Tociko, but can choose when it comes to springs...

Tokicos WILL fail (maybe last longer with eibachs) plus the ride isn't near as performance oriented as the konis. The ride with tokicos will just slowly get softer and softer until they're shot. Do you want to have to replace the struts again in the near future?

I remember, you told me this before...It's unbelievable because it is SO STIFF and didn't you buy them used?? (I like stiff/responsive ride) I've been driving my green maxima (with the tokicos) lately and I've been comparing the two. Konis are ALOT better than tokikos....

OT, did you see my pictures in your "this might be the end" thread?

I would go for the konis, and am trying to get my hands on a set as we speak. I hear they are THAT good.
