Tranny problem

The tranny on my Gen3 (96 Villager) has 150K. It works great most of the time, no slip, good changes, but every now and then it has a bout of first/reverse difficulty. Typical, would be, you're approaching a traffic light and it turns red. Stop. Now it is green again. It feels like the tranny isn't engaged and you put your foot down and it goes vroom! Then, clunk! First gear engages with a jolt. Same thing in reverse. It doesn't seem like it would be the torque converter, nor a lamilla, how about a solenoid? What do you think? (The level is to the mark, BTW. I only bought it recently and I have been busy with my Gen4 Max, so I haven't changed the fluid or done anything to it.)

(sigh) A Villager is a Nissan Quest which has a Gen 3 Max so far as all the mechanicals are concerned. The one with the nasty rubber drive belt unfortunately.

Thanks. I think the mounts are fine though; lots better than my gen4 Max anyway... that really does need mounts oh well, if it's a solenoid it's going to be 200 + labour. I draw the line at trying to fix trannies.
