Wussup everybody I'm just going to get right to the point..... i got my Warpspeed Y-pipe and I'm about to install and hit Moroso, but I have questions and those are:
Are there any other auto VG owners with the WSP y-pipe and if there are what are the REALISTIC gains as far as trapspeeds and E.T.'s...Input will be appreciated. BTW i went to Jamaica and I saw two skylines, two lancer evolutions (IV and VI), and an altezza. i have pix of the lancer and you could hear the blow off valve from across a parking lot.

don't complain, you have the VE
hey, how do you like your lightened flywheel? how did they do it? i'm really interested in that since i'm doing my clutch at the end of the summer.

i definetly will, I'm definetly going to the track before the end of this week so I'll have my reactions posted by no later than saturday, I'm guessing there are no other VG's running the wsp Y so that would make me the guinea pig. BTW where did you get the intake tubing you are using? i'm really interested in getting it, email me with some details.Originally posted by maxse91

I can feel a big differance it in the beginning of first and second. I am happy with it. I had my mechanic bring my flywheel to a machine shopOriginally posted by flyry110

Well I hit Moroso last night (6-15-01) and I'm not really that happy. I got the Y-pipe installed on the same day i went to the track and after the install the car felt strong and it really pulled and I thought that i was going to do better than my 16.6 best at the track, the car shifts harder in the higher gears and now the engine just sounds mean cuz there is more a deep growl to it. When i got to the track on my first run I tried to power shift up the track and I ran a 16.7 and i was ****ed but I gave the pipe the benefit of the doubt because I figued I wasn't shifting correctly. So I went and bought a bag of ice and chilled my intake manifold till it was ice cold and I finally got to run and I ran a 16.5 but the damn printer was broken so I didn't get my timeslip but I really don't expect anymore from Moroso. In any case my basic opinion is that the car definetly feels faster but the numbers weren't telling the same story. I would have got more runs if there wasn't a breakdown every five minutes I only ran twice in 2.5 hours. I don't know if the pipe needs time to "open up" or something like that but as for now I don't know what I was thinking.

How many miles did you drive after you put on the Y-pipe, before you went racing? The ECU will take about 200 miles to adjust for the added air flow.

Umm....I think you should be happy.
A vg auto stock is basically a 17second car. Sad as it is....thats the truth. Taking .4-.5 off the 1/4 with just a y pipe and muffler and I'd be happy. Remember, when MT tested the 2k I30 they got a 16.4 out of it
Now go spend 50 bucks more and get a generic cone and go back. I see 16.3ish for you.
Not bad times for what it is.

I already have an intake. And I think Hojo is right cuz the car feels like it's getting stronger still. I haven't completely given up on the pipe cuz me and my friend are going back to moroso when he gets his N1 exhaust so I'll have to look for improvement then, but thanx for the input.Originally posted by Mike S.

I installed one of the first WSP pipes they had.. it netted me about 8hp on the dyno, but that doesn't mean a helluvalot on the track.
to put things in perspective, you're increasing your power by less than 5%. (160 to 168 is 5%)
Because of that, don't expect the car to make more than a 5% decrease in your track times without changing something else too.
17 to a 16.5 timeslip is a 3% decrease. not too bad when you consider everything involved in shoving a 3300lb sled down a strip of concrete.
