Its still very strong, and the body doesnt look like its ever been wrecked and its in awsome shape. woot!

Lets see....

90 SE, 167K when totalled (watched it get crushed at the wrecking yard yesterday)

93 VE5 - Bought at 200012, sold at 218K, new engine had 90K on it

90 GXE - Bought at 165K, sold to friend at 165K 6 months ago, still waiting for tranny

93 SE A/T - Runs great at 155K, but parted out due to bad strut tower

93 GXE - Bought and sold at 190K (only bought to resell)

91 SE - Bought at 167K, sold at 172K (someone offered me WAY too much for it )

92 VE A/T - 269K, Original Engine and Tranny, still runs and looks better than any other max I have owned!

I have also owned a 90 Honda Accord with 322K, and currently own an 87 Mercedes Benz 300D Turbo with 286K

I have 145xxx on my 93 GXE no major work on the engine or transmission, still runs like new, even after it was stolen and trashed! I am replacing all the vac. hoses though, as they are about shot. Everything else is good.

my 87 se has 240xxx
my 00 se has 102xxx

I need to get the 87 or 93 working so I can cut down on the miles on the 00!

254xxx miles on my 93 5-speed. replaced: clutch, motor/tranny mounts, steering pump, fuel pump, some injectors, flex exaust, mufler, control arm, alternator, brakes (rotors), clutch master & slave cylinders, front struts/coil springs. rear shocks are still original.
for some reason I can't post any new threads, so I'm trying to stick my questions this way:
ENGINE STALLING usially on low speep/low gear acceleration, but also cuts off during "normal" city driving. I suspect a fuel pump, some electrical contact somewhere or, rich mixture, as I exploded (in the rear) when I was trying to start it again after another stall. This problem happenes usually 2-4 times a day.

Check your coils for cracks.

I checked the coil packs for cracks last year. Found some. Filled them with an epoxy glue. Last year my car has symptoms of missfiring and I thought the fault is in the coil packs, but the problem has been "cured" by switching to 91 octane gas. I will check the coils one more time this week to see if they developed more cracks.

Even if there are no cracks at all doesn't mean they are ok,the coils sometimes fail internally.....

445,000 km on 92 GXE. Bought it with 27,000 Km on it.
Still quiet, still goes, still the easiest car I'veever owned to drive smothly.

Just replaced shocks all round - fronts were original, rears were a second set of Monroe's.

Bad oil leak on the "expensive" - read transmission - side of the engine. Losing about 1liter every 500 km.

Have had auto trans rebuilt once - torque converter went, and had extensive valve damage when bolt in the timing belttensioner failed, about 200,000 km ago.

If I won the lottery I'd have her rebuilt, as it is, I keep putting i what's necessary. A really thorough paint job and rebuild of the a/c would be a good start.

As for the engine, apart from the oil leak, it's starting to puff some blue smoke on startup, lifters chatter a little longer than usual (mere seconds!), and there's alittle puff on acceleration. A real treat would be a rebuilt engine.

Did I say this is a super car? Love it!!

Regards - Miles

Super, super car.

306,000 on my VE 5 Speed, it now has a valve tap so it is coming out for a JDM VE. I ran it to redline atleast 5x per day, it has every single bolt on possible. I think it would have lasted longer, if I would have babied it, but it wasnt meant for that.

Rack and pinion is no fun what so ever! but its done and the offical milage is 401,694. The shop wanted over $800 to do the job plus the part was $170. It took just about 7 hours in total with clean up and test run. There isn't much on the car that hasn't been replaced. From the motor/trans to the temp sending unit, struts, coil, brakes, speakers turn signal switch. Lots of fiberglass bondo and other fun things.

The first motor/trans got 320k before it went and we changed with the one in there now. The new one had around 80k on it when we put it in so bout 160k on the current motor. I plan on getting at least another 100k before looking for a new ride.
