Not sure, but does this qualify for fewest miles? I've got 33k on my '91 SE, 28k when I got it. I can still remember blowing the dust off it in my grandpa's garage.

I meant it had 28k on it when I bought it a year ago. I've put almost 6k on it since then. But yeah, I won't need a new car for a while.

I put 16k in half a year does that count? now if I kept that at a constant rate I'd have 2k miles more than you!

232k on my 92 SE. Ive had it since it was new. Its been rained on in Washington, dinged up in Los Angeles, and now it handles the Texas heat no problem. Ive replaced alot of rubber and gaskets, lower control arms, and 2 injector coils. The engine remains strong, I grounded the VTC so no more noise and it still accelerates the same. It still gets the stated gas mileage, about 22 City and 26 Hwy. Its been pretty good to me.

128,056 Miles. Still pulls hard, starts up fine, idles smoothly. Felt like I got a new car after I replaced the sparks, wires, fuel and air filter after 85,000Miles :-D

Has 133k now, have just been using it for cruising around town. July and August will bring many miles, though. Driving to Indianapolis for Formula One in about 2 weeks (10 hrs each way). I will also be making at least 2 runs to Chicago. It'd be cool hit up a meet.

Highest I have seen so far was on an 87 2nd gen... 350K+ Looked like crap but ran like a top.

My 87 VG30DE 200SX slung a belt and tore up the top end after I gave it to a friend. Just over 340K.

My 300ZXTT has over 150K and runs like new. (turbos replaced at 120K)

My 72 240Z had over 150K on it when the tranny went, engine ran like a winged mammal from Hades. 140mph+

225k And Currently getting it's second transmission.....
The only reasons I can think that our transmissions suck (A/T)
Is because....

1.) NO FILTER ??? << STUPID !!
2.) Standard equipment on 87-89 Stanza << 4-cyl right ?
3.) torque converter locks up too soon on FWY

The engine runs like a top though...... NO problems whatsoever on the engine !!

Oh well, I still like the maxima, Cleanest gen. of maxima IMHO.

Troy.

894dsc, Nissan has always had trouble keeping tranny's together. All the old straight four and six Datsuns would blow out the tranny bearings at about 100K. You'd get a few that would make it forever, but most of them lost the output shaft bearings at about that point. Same for my 87 200SX V6 blew out the output shaft bearings at 170K.

I think the Stanza is the worst car Nissan ever built. I dated two girls who had them. In both cases, the cars would run for a few months without a hitch. One day they would just die. Might be in a parking lot, might be out on the road, no rhyme or reason. The car absolutely would not start or run. A day or two later, it would crank and run like nothing ever happened. No codes, no obvious problems. Never figured it out, just sold the blasted things.

On another thread, I asked how can you run a transmission without the car, because someone can troubleshoot the trans and maybe built a better one.

Anyways bought my car with 146K last October, now 161K

Stanzas are to me like a Sentra/Maxima hybrid. I get them confused on certain angles

Yeah, couldn't get anybody to steal the damned thing.

Neither of these cars had anti-theft.

I agree but the stanza has the same transmission as the vg30 equipped Maximas have, that explains it all to me, the trans came out of a 4 cyl. car and it's asking too much to actually put the power down to the ground reliable.
I replaced 3 (MANUAL) transmissions in my 97 hardbody (230HP N/A)
It was a fun truck but I kept blowing out synchros and had to get rid of the truck.
After my max is up and running today It will probably go another 70-100K without a problem (Major anyway) and It's better than paying a car payment and higher insurance IMHO.

Troy.
