Hey everyone.... I think I have a problem.
Well today I had to drive to Maitland a town about 50kms (30 Miles) from my home town. I stoped parked my car and after an hour I returned to the car and I saw a little puddle of coolant under the car but it was not directly under radiator it was sort of near the sump plug area. Anyway I thought it might have been just overflow. So I drove home... Well the temperature didnt change and the car drove fine. I got home and opened the bonnet and the coolant overflow bottle was completely full. So I drained some out. Anyway I left the car and went to work in mums car. I came home in the afternoon and checked the car because it would have cooled down. All the coolant had been sucked back into the cars radiator... So I topped up the coolant overflow bottle and drove the car till the got upto operating temp. Again overflow full to the MAX. I just out then to check car 4 hours after I last drove it and there is another puddle under the car again. But I can see no trace of where it is comming from. I checked hoses that I can see. It is comming somewhere from the drivers side (Passenger side for USA models). Can anyone help????

I am no expert, but every now and then my a/c leaves big puddles under my car. I could be that. Are you sure you are leaking coolant?

Yes it is definely coolant as it is green. It is running from somewhere around the pulleys on the side of the engine. When should water pumps be changed? Maybe it is the water pump! It is definely not comming from any hoses I have checked them all and checked each clamp on the hoses. There all tight. But I cannot see where this coolant is comming from!!! Does anyone know why it is leaking. Anyones water pump ever leaked? Mine car is leaking coolant when it is cold!! But when driven it is fine but as soon as the car cools down it starts leaking!!

Water pump

Sounds like the pump to me. It is over that side of the car. Had mine replaced when the timing belt was changed.

The pump itself is cheap $80 plus tax for me. (NZ)

If it is the Water Pump....

I'd get it replaced ASAP! I think another guy I knew had a leaky waterpump, and it leaked all over his timing belt eventually causing it to snap and bend the valves and mess up the engine....be careful!

Yes it is definely the water pump now. Im getting it replaced next week by Nissan motors in Cessnock a small town about 20kms away from my town. It is going to cost me $100 for the pump but $150 in labour. Plus I have got it cheaper if I supply my own coolant. But I have rego this week!! Help!....
