Ipod

Is there any way to hook up an IPOD to the Bose unit? Anyone know of an adapter available for this?

Yep, its called the super finangled tape adapter. No..there is something on hackaday.com about them hacking up a cd changer adapter on a volkswagen and hooking up an ipod to it, but nothing about nissan..i don't see why this couldn't be accomplished though..with a little bit of ingenuity

I'm sure Apple makes an FM modulator that you can hook the Ipod up to. That'd be the easiest way.

That's the same way the Delphi XM Radio setup works and it does a pretty good job. You can even get FM modulators that wire directly into the antenna cable behind the radio for better quality.

tape adapter

don't bother spending the $100+ on a CD changer controller adapter.

I use a $5 tape adapter on the Bose in my QX4 and it sounds great. I put the ipod in the cupholder or in the center console.

I dunno about how much they are for factory decks, but I bought the cd changer adapter for my pioneer 4700 for 17 dollars off ebay, 8 + 9 for shipping

ebay ipod adapter for Nissan

I think this is the one I was looking at for my QX4.

I would imagine a lot of aftermarket companies like Alpine, Pioneer, Clarion, etc. have cheaper adapters.

I remember reading here somewhere someone hacked the bose unit and added an auxiliary input. It just dangled out the passenger side kickpanel, but it would accept a 1/8" stereo input.

I'm sorry I don't remember who it was, but seek and ye shall find.
