AMP bypass

AMP bypass

I was quoted $300.00 to do this job on my MAX. Is this too much.....
Where can I find info on how to?

I live in Jacksonville Florida...can u make it here. I am no electrician, but I want to swith out my Bose system. Must have missed something, I will check the dieing Bose thread.

If you want to put in an aftermarket HU powering the speakers, it would be fairly easy to just run new wire to the fronts, then use the stock wiring to bypass the amps in the rear.

buy an aftermarket headunit, and speakers from best buy, and theyll install it for you

BUT they want $25 for the adapter onthe HU plus another $10 for the antenna adapter plus they'll probably feed you a line about having to rewire the car because of the amp setup

or spend the money, by new stuff, all new wires, and DIY..its not hard....

I had a friend a few weeks ago had a bad run in with a car audio installer that works at the bestbuy near my house feeding him lines about how they had to rewire his 98 cadillac that has amps and such in it that went out. He flat out told them to remove it.

In turn his arguement got him his total install free and a $50 dollar giftcard to best buy. If they do modifications to your car that aren't stated before the install is completed then you are not liable to pay for it.

In short, do it yourself
