Squeeky New Brakes

I recently brought my 94 maxima gxe into replace my old squeeky front brake at a local shop in Brooklyn. After 2 attempts at replacing and resurfacing the rotors and brake pads (bendix), they still Squeek. My local shop is about to tell me to go somewhere else, because they cant find the problem. Is it possible the the calipers need to be replaced? Can anyone please Help in this matter?

Thanks in advance

Get some brake caliper grease and grease the slide pins/brake pad retainers..

Also, I believe there is an anti squeal grease that should be put on the pad shims and BACK of the pads. This reduces squeal also. If this doesn't work, then buy the OEM pads. Sometimes aftermarket pads will squeal just due to their design.

Don't know, but doubt it. I'm trying this new wheel wax (creatively named "Wheel Wax" that is supposed to repell brake dust. When I try it I'll post whether it works or not.

this might the same problem i have. i just found out about the squeeking this morning. i changed my brakes a few days ago. it sounds kinda like the sounds that guinea pigs make but constantly. it does it at low speed. i says around 10 to 15 mph. i thought it was the suspension.

when changing the brakes. i saw one of my slide pin is loose. it does glue onto the rubber piece like the other ones. so some of the grease were dripping out.

greasing sounds like the solution, or try some brake cleaner.

Cheap Aftermarkets are usually Semi-metallic, which is a big no no for stock rotors.

I bought my rotors and pads from stopcheck.com and the pads
costs about 90 dollars ,but I have had no problems with squeeling
or pad dust. I had a shop install them. They said they had to machine
the sliders to get them back to normal size but all and all they are perfect!
4 crossed drilled rotors and pads 250 labor 400 ish total 650 ish...
no squeeling at all $ priceless..... he he he

www.raceshopper.com the LOWEST prices you'll find. They carry Brembo blanks as well. My order was around $450, that was for 4 Rotors, Pads, and SS Brake lines

When I get a front set of brake rotors for around $150, and the MSRP from the factory site is about TWICE that... yea... it's pretty low.

LOL, MSRP is an inflated number used to make people feel like they are getting a deal.
Monroe has MSRP at twice Jobber.

Went back and had them install new pad and resurface the rotors again. They Still Squeek at low speed when about to stop. I have not had a chance to grease the bolts and pins like suggested. Wondering if I could use the spray anti squeek as mentioned earlier? Saw some advertised by GUNK. I live in Brooklyn, so I dont like working on my car in the street. (miss those old days of growning up on a ranch, where I could work on my vehicles.) Guess I need to Lube those parts.

Wow... I would have killed for a squeek when I had my Brembo slot/Napa pad setup. My Maxima sounded like a dumptruck when it stopped.

I have installed Brembo OEM style rotors and green stuff pads up front and I can tell you that they do work (i.e. very little dusting) In fact the front brakes dust less then the OEM rear (Smallz Brakz) which is very sad seeing as how little 3rd gen's use the rear brakes.

Shift_why couldn’t I fall for a nice domestic girl and not a Maxima

my .02 cents:

i bought some pads at autozone, they gave me an organic brake pad, after a few miles, they started squeeking badly, i tried those anti-squeel paste thingy to no avail......finally, i replaced the pad with a semi-metallic...squeek gone!

Kcidmil........why a semi-metalic a big no no on for stock rotor????

WTF!
it should be the other way around. Semi-mets squeak and organics don't.

the stock (original, by now long gone) rotors are made of a softer metal than the aftermarket ones are

It's part of my on-going campaign to Stop Ricing Maxima's (Sto.R.M.)

Please people let's end the desecration of last Japanese muscle car and Not affix "wings", Sunfire grade ground kits, LED windshield washer whatevers, references and/or stickers of NOS, rims that weigh over 30 pounds each, etc...
Also this may be a stretch but can we agree that clear tail lights look good on most colors EXCEPT black? Thank you for your time.

Seen one worse, at least they have actual rims. While on a visit to my parent's I saw a 4th gen that was the same color, but they had bought cheap Wal-mart hubcaps, and spray painted them with purple/blue kameleon paint. I believe they were the spinners too... can't quite remember. I was to disgusted after the initial view to look back.
