Check Engine Light...

My car's ['94 GXE] check engine light has been turning on recently and i was hopin for a quick diagnosis. Becuase, ya'll are that good.

It first came on while on a 3 hour interstate road trip. It came on again on another shorter-but-at-high-speed trip across the city. It seems [and whether or not it is a mere coincidence i know not] that the check engine light comes on a couple of minutes after i give my car full acceleration.

The oil was changed after the first time the light came on but before the second, and the radiator was flushed, the only problems the car has had in the past involve rebuilding the auto tranny -- twice. [Yells: BLAST YOU AAMCO!!!]

Any idea's would be amazing. Thanks guys.

How do i do this exactly? Please excuse my nissan ignorance, i catch on quick but haven't ever had a need/reason to dewlve into diagnosising the CEL. Also, doe it matter that the light is not consistently on?

Thanks for your help!

to get codes find the ecu which is behind a panel by the front passenger's feet. with the key on(engine off) use a flat head to turn the little screw all the way clockwise. your check engine light should begin to flash. turn the screw fully counterclockwise right after the light flashes 3 times. now the flashes will give you any stored codes, if there are any, long flashes= 10, short= 1 so a long flash followed by 3 short ones =13 the ve and vg obds are different there may be a green and red flash? but the repair manual on the autozone site has good info
hope this helps, please correct me if i got the two systems confused
