Write up??

1.Put jack under transmission, raise it enough to let the pressure of the mount
2.Unbolt bad motor mount.
3.Put new m/m in place of bad one ,bolt it in...

Look at the center of the mount where the rubber part is for cracked/broken areas....

I had mine changed about 2 months ago.

I first noticed that when I put my car into reverse, I would get a much larger shock at times. Then, I noticed if I stepped on the gas even a little hard in Reverse (like backing up a hill), I would feel this funny vibration past 1200 or so RPM.

I opened the hood, got back into the driver's seat. I shifted the transmission into reverse/drive and revved it lightly with my left foot on the brake. I peeked into the engine compartment through the slot under the bottom of the hood. I noticed my engine rocked back and forth A LOT. Especially when I shifted into Drive.

Sure enough, the transmission mount had sheared off (those carriage bolts looking part of the mount) when I looked at it closely.

I bought replacement mounts from NAPA (engine mounts also) and just took it into my mechanic and had it changed.

Now the car shifts smoother and all is well once again.

If you buy OEM transmission mounts watch out for the rear one. The replacement part I bought is different for the one I took out of the transmission bracket, although the part # is the same. It has what looks like a bumpstop on the top (that the previous one did not) but bolts up to the lower L-shaped bracket that connects to the transmission perfectly. It does not, however, bolt into the upper bracket that fits the bushing itself. The metal has to be grinded on each side of where the main bolt that fits thru the rubber bushing is inserted. It's not that big of a deal to me, but a heads up for those who don't expect it.
