Intake advice

Hello All, It seems that I'm back here in force, huh? Well, I guess since I've been away a while I really stored up a lot of questions. Plus, the time to fix a lot of the little stuff is near at hand!

Anyway, to the point- I got a Stillen Intake a while back from someone on eBay for a good deal. Only it ended up being for the VE30DE instead of my VG30E. It is pretty much the same except for the mounting bracket. I was wondering if anyone on here has a Stillen mounting bracket that would fit my '89 GXE and I could possibley swap them the one for the '92-'94 SE.

Another option I was thinking of is a lead I have on a used PR CAI. Should I get that instead? How much of an improvement is the CAI over the short ram style of the Stillen Intake? And can I use my Stillen filter on the end of the CAI (since it doesn't come with one) or should I use something else. I have a cheap (and dirty) eBay cone filter that is on there right now, so I'm sure either option would be an improvement.

Your opinions would be welcome.

i'm sure the CAI would yield better gains than the short ram. i have something similar on the 3rd gen, with a cheapo 20 dollar autozone cone filter. didn't really feel anything different with the car's response, but it did add that nice growl to the engine

the filter should work, if you have enough clearance at the end of the pipe, and if the filter can fit over the 3" tubing.

yea I tried that 20 dollar air filter too, didn't work, nice sound though, cai is definatly the way to go, but they are expensive for these years of maxima
