Most magazines and newspapers keep a stack of back copies for a set length of time. A lot of magazines keep a year or more on back copy so that people can buy them. In fact, you can go to hemmings site and buy back copies. The issue my car was in was from January 2006, which was only a couple of months ago.
When I worked for a newspaper, they had about 20 copies of each issue that went back a year or so. Some really important issues, they would keep a stack of for years. They would sell them to people looking for a certain story, obituary, photo, etc. They also have a bound version of each paper ever printed on file (back to 1903) so you can get a photocopy if you want to.

In for a copy...
I think I am only getting 2-3 copies and I am keeping them.
If you want to buy your own back issue, you can here:
http://www.hemmings.com/store/backissues.html
It is January 2006, with the orange 240z on the cover.
There are also some available on ebay for around the same price.

been there done that. I almost bought a C4 not long ago but passed on it because I didnt want to fool with that particular model (85) and the wiring under the hood. I am trying to deal with a guy that has a pretty nice C3 (74) but I think its going to fall through. Also there is a C4 a friend of mine told me about in the next state over I might go look at. Its a little high but the motor is stout and has a 6spd transplant. It also has the late model bumper and rear on it...or maybe just the ZR1 bumper my friend cant remember.
I would get rid of a Maxima in a heart beat for a Vette but thats because my Maximas are just toys and I dont depend on them for daily driving or to haul the family.

I swore it was 85 though? err nevermind. Makes sense, I test drove an 85 350 TPI Firebird (iirc, might be wrong though
) I was surprised at how weak it was. Again this was like 5 years ago

oh, well. At least it is staying near the top, so I won't have to search for it when my magazines arrive and I can gloat.
I hope the dude writes a personal message to me, then I can show you losers what's it's like to have the most famous 3rd gen of all!!!

I stuck my head outside the 4G/Track/Perf/Maintanence forums to see this. Congrats! You third gen is probably the cleanest example I can think of, and the recognition is well deserved. Again, nice job!

I got the magazines today. Two copies of the issue my car was in and one copy of the current issue. No personalized note or anything, so I can't brag it up too much.
I did show some people at work and they were mildly impressed. The magazine is very professional, so my car looks important -- especially since the article is about Japanese collectible cars.

No, there are some coworkers of mine with some serious cars. They know cars and they know my car is "decent" for a Japanese car. I agree with them, too.
One guy has two 66 Vette roadsters (one is a 427) and a beautiful 57 Chevy, another has a 454 4-speed 70 Chevelle SS and the other guy has a VW bug that is probably faster than all but a handful of Maximas on this entire board. I think he runs low 12s with it. He also built a couple of other VWs that are impressive.
