Goodbye to my '89 SE

as of 6-3-06 i sold my '89 SE 5-spd to one of my buddies from work. he needed a car cuz he was movin' to another BMW dealer and asked if i was sellin' a car. of course i was in no hurry to sell my '89 but i really didn't need it that much since i had it as a spare car whenever i had to work on my '93. i told him that i was sellin' my '89 and he said that he'll buy it off me. i was originally askin' $1500 for it since i did an engine swap along with new timin' belt, water pump, thermostat, clutch slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, front main seal, cam seals, rack and pinion bushings, driver side fender in matching color, door panels, and the ABS unit that goes in the engine bay, and some other small parts. i dropped it down to $1250 so he agreed and we went to do the transfer of the title and tag and now it has found a new home. he use to own a 3rd gen before but it was an auto and it had electrical problems. i just hope he maintains the car in good shape so that it will last him a long time. im sure gonna miss my '89. just thought i would share this with u guys.

At least you still have the green one...Maybe you could put the money towards a good deal on an old Bimmer, since you at a dealership...Really like the E30's.

yeah, im really gonna miss my '89. im gonna miss how i would always do burn outs and just eat Honda's up all day long. that car felt so strong after the engine swap that it made me think twice about drivin' my '93 but not get rid of it. the '89 was just my spare with a loud *** exhaust system which i didn't put it on since i don't like exhausts that much. well, i did sell it to my buddy from work and i did tell him to stop in here to become a member but it all depends on him if he wants to join. that car will be missed and i hope my friend takes good care of it as much as i did. the money will be used towards a new car. im not gonna dump it all in my '93 cuz i know its gonna be something thats gonna be useless later on for it. so im just gonna keep savin' it and try to get a Lexus IS300 or a 5th gen or even an E39 a.k.a. BMW 5 series. i just have to find great deals on these cars and c what happens from there.

yes, but those taillights on the '89 were originally on my '93 with the chrome trim. so i took them off and took out all of the reflectors inside the tails so that the lens would be left and then painted the chrome trim to black so that it can look like the '92-'94 SE tails. of course i then installed '93 SE tails on my '93 GXE but i also took out the reflectors.

btw: did u get ur user name from a cartoon character from disney?

MrGone: it is nice to get back more money for the car when i originally paid $450.

I'm a

Yeah, it started from Darkwing Duck. My Initals are D.W, has Launchpad called Darkwing Duck. But now I swayed from the relationship with the character with the appended 48.

Yeah, I hear ya. In L.A., California, they used to that everyday until one day, a pursuit was on about all channels (even interrupted the cartoon). A man stopped, try to kill himself by burning himself and his dog in his pick-up. He could take it, so he jumped out, took his shotgun and killed himself. The parents were outraged that kids may have saw this. So each channel slowly phased in the adult talk/court shows and out the cartoons.
