18 Inch Rims

Hey guys, what kind of price range should I expect if I want some 18 inch chrome rims for my 1990 GXE used? This is the first time I've ever owned a car I wanted to put rims on (i.e. not a junker) so I'm really not sure what a good deal for something like this would be. If anyone has any to sell, you could also reply in here.

Prices for rims can vary by a lot. Not only does size and finish matter, but so does the brand. For example, Konig makes rims that are failry inexpensive. The same goes for Eagle, Elite, and some Enkie. For 18 inch chromes, you should expect for your wallet to take quite a few punches. I would guess somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 - $1000. Some of the Niche rims such as the Pultec series can be more than $1000. Momo is another expensive brand. I also own a 2002 Explorer and I bought some KMC Venom 18 inch rims for my ride. Full chrome. They list at $485 each. That isn't what I paid for them, but that is what they list for. For the Max, I am saving to get some rims such as the Konig Caffeines or Tantrums or maybe Eagle Alloy 77. Maybe even Elite Sportline Shoguns. I like how all those rims look. It is really a matter of personal preference. Some people on here will tell you not to get chrome while other will. I don't like chrome on cars but I do on trucks and SUVs. That is why I got the Venoms. All the rims that I am looking at for the Max are alloys.

The 17's can be bought real cheap. About $135 a rim at some places. I think www.whalentire.com had some Knoig deals going on. When I checked with their site, I e-mailed them and got a quote for the rims, tires, mounting and balancing and having them shipped to me in GA. The cost was like $1025. Can't really beat that type of deal. That is where I am going to get mine from as soon as I let the bank account build back up after buying that Explorer.
