What did you pay for your 3rd Gen Max's --- Good Deal?

well>>
considering the mileage it always amazes me what people ask/pay for 3rd gens.... I see them in the paper around here asking $4500-6K for something w/ 160-190K on it.. my 89SE is approaching 200K and I was gonna repaint it before I sold it.... (just back to factory black.. factory paint is faded and its got some surface rust).. after that I was only going to ask $2100 OBO and legitmately would take $1800.. I'd sell it tommorow unpainted for $1500...

my 93se
My dad bought it brand new in November 93, paid cash in full...$19k from a $23,800 sticker price..17 miles on it after he test drove it. Now it's reading 93,500+. Man, just think how much more quality that kind of money can get now =(

93 Maxima SE
I bought my 93 SE pretty recently, with 110k miles on it, for $6500, in amazingly pristine condition. Already had the major expensive work done, i.e. VTC and injectors, and clutch.
One problem with it though - has anyone else eve had problems with massive maounts of road noise? Going any faster than 30MPH, it sounds like a friggin jet plane taking off...has really hard rubber tires (Michelin energy's, which I hate) but I don't think that those could cause even this much road noise. Possible somehting in the front axle...any suggestions?

roaring noise
I had that roaring sound on my max before...and it didn't make any noise until I went past 30mph..like yours. It were the bearings in the rear driverside rotor. I had to get the whole rotor replaced for $230 with labor. Midas wanted $400 to do that.

I paid $4200 for mine. I bought her from the original owner who had driven it carefully and kept it in the garage. It had 109k miles on it.
However, I have spent $$$$ on the below listed upgrades as well as having the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, thermostat, front main oil seal, cam shaft seals, and vehicle speed sensor replaced. I also put in an alternator.
