Clutch replacement options

I am about to purchase a clutch for my 89 SE. I have found some different sources for it and am unsure of the quality/price for them. Can anyone give me any feedback on these options?

Denkin (made by Exedy) clutch kit
The guy said it was an OEM replacement
Carquest $250

Fenco (not sure if reman'd or not, guy didn't say so assuming new)
Kragen $180

United
NAPA $190

Rhinopac (sp?)
local auto parts $168

Any feedback on these brands/prices would be great. Recommendations for alternatives are also welcome. TIA.

Perhaps you should have read some of the threads you were bombarding with "that is the most awesome thing" as one of them...http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=486636...dealt with clutch problems. You probably would've been able to ask politely in that thread about clutch replacement options and gotten a straight answer without all these nonsensical posts.

Sorry the intent was not malicious. All but one of those posts has been deleted by me. That post only covered the slave replacement anyway. I'm looking for clutch information.

I would stay with the Exedy, but I think internetautomart might be your best source for information and/or sales.

If you like to drive it somewhat hard, you might even want to bump up to an Exedy Stage 1 instead of the OEM replacement.

DAIKIN not Denkin is Exedy
good brand, would be my first choice in a stock replacement
Fenco (not sure if reman'd or not, guy didn't say so assuming new)
Kragen $180
Fenco is normally reman, but I haven't been too thrilled with their quality
United
NAPA $190
Perfection Clutch (think Zoom)
Rhinopac (sp?)
local auto parts $168
spelling is correct, but they aren't of a Daikin or Sachs level of quailty
Any feedback on these brands/prices would be great. Recommendations for alternatives are also welcome. TIA.

like I said, personally I'd go Daikin if I had to do a clutch. Luckily I don't

Thanks for the good responses. Internet autosupply looks good but the shipping is too expensive. I need it by sat and four day is pushing it. I might as well pick it up at the local shop to do 3 day. Can you use a UPS acct#?

the clutches come from different locations so some they now have different shipping costs depending on where it is coming from and where it is going

I bought a Exedy stage 1 off of ebay from "proclutch" for $130 shipped. It was here in a couple of days, and I beat the hell out of it and so far so good. Not a bad deal.

Not to change the subject but what kinda power (Crank HP) can those Exedy Stage 1 clutches hold reliably? I will be in the market for a new clutch, and those gaskets we talked about in another thread very soon…

I don't remember exactly but I think mine was rated somewhere around 260hp which is fine for me and your average daily driver I suppose.
