I can't see any advantage to having 2 low beams on each side.

i really don't like them but it is nice to c that CE thought about the 3rd gen community. i would get them just to do what Michael said. use the clear lense and slap them onto my E36 with angel eyes and HID's and then just use the GTS clear covers to modify my corners as well to match with the headlights. i think im gonna call CE about this and c what they say.

i dont think the headlights would look good, unless they made some euro clear corners.

these lights may not be that great but it's something new for us so no one should be b!tching. really, when's the last time something new came out for a 3rd gen?
Finally someone mentioned something about the BMW retrofits. They look so much cooler, IMHO. I happened to be looking in ebay earlier today and saw the Euro reflectors there. Several merchants were selling them I don't remember prices, but it doesn't seem worth it if the beam isn't any better, as one mentioned here. BUT---- there was also someone offering a kit for the BMW projectors! First time I saw that. Once again, I don't 'member prices, but check it out...

Oh... and you can pick up a set of Hella E36's for the same price.

http://www.internetautomart.com/cata...1_682_954_1154
I was looking at those Hellas.. Do they have the correct HID bulbs? Or do I have to go to the yard or Wal-Mart and buy the right HID bulbs for the hookup on the Max? Also, Isnt CCFL much brighter than LEDs? Or are those on the Hellas pretty bright?

Let me know, I want to order me a set! But I gotta know what i have to retrofit and mod to stick em on my Max.

Thanks!

I know, I've seen it mentioned elsewhere, I just meant here. When I'm ready to do that project, I'll read up on it. Great info can be found in a lot of those stickies. And if my maxima was gay, my girlfriend wouldn't be so jealous, lol.

LOL that was a test to see if some one actually read posts insted of just replying to the original. My point remains valid in that its been said 2-4x that thats the best thing to do with them. But if you dont actually read the words in the post thats not my problem.

If my 92 was still on the road I would definietly put the clear headlights in. For some reason, I've never liked the e36's.

These lights are a hid retrofitter's dream for the 3rd gen. Clear glass + hid projectors= new love of night driving. I spoke to another manufacturer, basically one reason they couldn't do a projector style is demand. They said they would have to order 50,000 sets. I don't think every 3rd gen org member would buy one soooo. But in the case of a honda accord, there are ricers everywhere so they have a ton of options and aftermarket part. All I can say is when I first saw these I saw an open door for 3rd gens to have real good lighting. More than likely I will pick up a set to work on..

I read all 4 pages of this post, and no one asked the one question I'm dying to ask: How are these DOT legal? They look like they would blind anyone coming at you.

do they still need to be DOT legal? i've seen new cars from manufacturers that r basically clear like these. Honda's got them, so does Lexus and even porsche. but, i guess ur probably wondering about the H.I.D's then that would be different since they say u have to have projectors for them but the first gen IS300 don't have projectors with H.I.D's and some Acura's don't have them either.

in order to be used on a vehicle in this country (the US) they must meet the DOT standards in effect at the time of manufacture.

Stock housings are glass and plastic, just for giggles why would it matter? If they are DOT ok then they could be cardboard for all it mattered legally. Just wondering.

everyone should chip in like $5 or $10 so that we could buy a set and put them in a max and see what they look like then auction the set off and have the procedes go to the .org!

haha just a thought...

I'm considering getting a set. Only, what is the benefit of paying a lot more for the ones from CM ($175 + shipping) verses paying around $110 Shipped from eBay?

umm nothing since they are the same ones...unless the ebay seller has a lot of negative feedback then I would go with whats cheaper.

OK, so I'll probably go with the eBay ones and look to upgrade by swapping the lense to e36 projectors later on. The eBay ones I'm looking at had a black housing inside. Looks kinda neat. One more question, I was thinking to upgrade my bulbs to 9007. Would that work with these lights? Thanks.

Yes. 9007 can be swapped into any 9004. it takes a file/dremel and swapping 2 wires on the harness.

Thanks for that. I do need to swap out my wiring, because currently my OEM bulbs are burning out due to some short circuit. But, my question also was ment to ask about the beam pattern. Will the 9007 be much worse than the 9004? Thanks.

wait you are talking about some different ones then. The ones I saw on ebay a while back were exactly like the others (chrome inside). You cant have them with black inside or there will be nothing to project the light...IMO this would be a HUGE mistake UNLESS you are putting projectors in or just using the lens to put it on the E36s.

Sorry about my incomplete description. By "black inside" I meant the housing, not the reflector. There's not much besides the reflector, just a little on the sides where it's flat. That is black. I think it looks a little better than the all chrome ones. Here's a link:

I got chrome housing, I don't know about these black housing though.... man, I'm kinda skeptical whether it can project your light far away.
