clean, nice job on the center console trim too. i have to ask why though, it's already a double din configuration. did you just want them more evenly spaced? man that tranny looks nice too.

And the lighter and the 4-way flasher

Like most mods I do - it's mainly just to see if I can and to figure-out how it's done. So that was the only real reason.
The factory position of the radio and storage bin is set-back further than the face of the climate controls. Now they're all in-line depth wise, width wise and are evenly spaced.

The 4-way button was moved to the stock fog-light switch location (cause I don't have fogs). The power-outlet was installed on the back of the center console (facing the rear seats).

Wow, nice polished tranny! Seems like you do alot of your own work on the car, it looks great. Also where did you buy your Audi E-Brake boot? How is the fitment/install with it?

Thanks.

I do all of my own work. Sometimes that's a good thing......, and sometimes it's a bad thing...

As for the hand-polish work, thx for the compliments. I do have a tip tho - don't use undiluted Castrol Super Clean on polished alloy...and let it sit for a few minutes - it etches the alloy.

I got the e-brake boot from the wreckers. The install was super easy and clean. Only drawback is that the console is a little tougher to get on and off now (especially with the e-brake boot AND the heated seat switches AND the power outlet).

they make a 3rd gen ebrake boot. redlinegoods.com sells them.

I had one on my old 92...here are some pics.

If you cant find a used Audi one you can go that route.

Looks good, nice clean work. BTW, did 3rd gens ever come with an analog clock? I've never seen that before.

Was that a good 'never!!!' or a bad 'never!!!'??

No, Maximas never came with an analog clock.
I've had that for years. Actually starting to get sick of that particular one (out of a Mazda 929 iirc?). I'll likely change it out in the future for something smaller, with a white face, from a modern vehicle.

It looks like the subs dont have an enclosure, are you using the entire trunk volume as the enclosure or is the picture just deceiving?

Subs are running 'free-air' - using the entire trunk as an enclosure.
I wanted that because I was installing a pass-thru with a ski-bag..., and I didn't want to eat-up any trunk space..., and I wanted the install to be pretty stealth or low profile.

You could seal them to an enclosure, but you'd need to remove the trunk springs and install gas-struts like Micheal did, and I'll be doing too - cause we switched to GXE trunk lids which are lighter, and pop-open rather abruptly now.

Pics of what? I just checked and the site is working fine for me.
If you're asking about the clock, you can see it in this pic.

That's a loaded question - cause it'll mainly depend on your subs. My subs weren't even designed for free-air operation (I know, I know - NOT a good idea...). I just bought them cause they were $30 each (Canadian). I'll change'em for some purpose-built free-air subs later.
I liked the sound. It wasn't booming like a sealed enclosure, but it was nice and smooth.

Thanks for the pics Michael, I knew about the Redline ones, just kinda broke so I want to find a cheaper way. The Audi one doesn't look too bad. You happen to have any old boots?

Thanks.

Edit* Sorry shvelle for whoring your thread.

One more thing Michael, my interior is almost perfect, except for one thing. The leather on my armrest is terrible! Where did you get the replacement leather for yours, in the pics? Redline doesn't make them for the 3rd Gens.

Thanks.
