Poly Urethane Mounts

Sorry...not to be a re-poster or anything but I curently have 56k and it's extremly time consuming for me to go though all the older posts on here. Is there a good write up or thread on doing the poly mounts? I plan on donating as soon as I get paid so I can search. Thanks!

Do you have a write up on it or is it pretty much just drilling them out and filling them?

Jon, buy 1 can of 94a 2-part poly urethane mix from mcmaster.com (search for part number 8644K18). Drill and cut as much rubber out of the engine mounts (MAKE SURE NOT TO REMOVE ALL OF THE RUBBER) then fill the mounts with the two part mix. As for the tranny mounts, just leave them the way that they are (don't remove any rubber) and fill them.

Compare Prices with Travers.com as I found them to be cheaper. I went with the 80 Liquid type Shore-A on my VGT. Others on the forum have indicated the 94 is too stiff. You will find that the 80 is some very thick stuff and which I recommend having used it myself. There will be some mild increase in vibration, but not too bad. The 80 is cheaper too! You only need one pound to do all 4 mounts and have some left over. I was able to do 4 engine mounts and two tranny mounts with one pound...but depends on how much rubber you remove. Who recommended the 94? IMO: I believe you'll find it to be too much for what you need.

I recommended 94a...Jon has driven my car and I have 94a. IMO, 94a is great. You can barely notice any extra vibration.
