how much u want for the car? I could use an extra 5-speed in the garage for if and when mine blows up, I think it's got almost 200k on it. Leather would be nice, too!

Is hail something that can be predicted by a meteorologist, so you can get the car into the garage. Or is it unpredictable and you're SOL. It's been a long time since I've lived in a city that could drop below freezing temperature.

Man, even in the great white north it is rare to see hail. Sorry for your loss bro, but it seems like you're taking it pretty well.

Too bad, if I only had the money for diesel and a trailer for my truck, I'd be up there this weekend to get it and part it out for you people.

Of course, I'd only want the leather seats.

Yes, hail can be "predicted", although thats not quite the correct word. The hail core of a thunderstorm will show up on radar & usually the radar will even give a pretty good estimation of the size of the hail --

also, you don't have to live in a city where it is below freezing to get hail - it hails all the time here and the temps before the storms are in the 90's - the hail gets frozen when it is circulated up in the the storm clouds in the atmosphere where they freeze, drop back down into rain, and get circulated back up into the storm - this continues until the weight of the stone is too much for the updraft of the storm to circulate - hence, stronger the storm, the larger the hail

If you had comprehensive insurance you'd be ok right? Just thinking of all those newer damaged cars out there. Those are some bad dents, theres no way that can be pushed out without repaint.

yes, if you had comp coverage you'd be good to go - but any insurance company/adjuster would write to replace those panels instead of conventional repair or paintless - most of those cars are going to either total or have most of the skyward panels replaced.

That car is one of only two Max's I've seen with that kind of center arm rest peice. The first is mine, which needs to be replaced given it is cracked! Please, whoever gets this car, sell me that leather armrest lid!

I have that center arm rest too actually. Assuming your talking about the big padded one as opposed to the thin lid.

Either at a wreckers or somebody parting one out here I guess. My Max originally came with the thin lid too. It also only came with enough storage room for about 4 cassette tapes (yeah remember those? lol) Man, I've had my Maxima a long time! Anyway, I replaced the centre storage console too and now can store like a cordless drill in there, or a midget. To be clear, I have done no such thing - but I got options man. I got options.

89-90 (maybe 91) had the short arm rest. 91 (maybe 92)-94 had the larger arm rest.

it wasnt really a arm rest at first because it was so short which is why they probably changed it to the larger one.

What did you replace it with? Or where did you get it? I have the stock '92 SE one, that will fit "4 cassette tapes" hahah, But if I can find a bigger one with newer leather, I'd be all about that.

Local wreckers. There are usually a good supply of 3rd gens to choose from. I guess that's both a good and a bad thing.

This is incorrect. My car is an '89 and has this peice stock...came with car. I actually took it apart one time, dug out some of the foam. I installed my motion sensor for my Ungo alarm in there! Anyway, all I can figure is that this was some option you could get. I suppose it was kinda like the leather door panel inserts few have in thier Max's. Probably cost $150 for the padded rest, so few people got it. I love mine though...just cracked!

did you buy the car new? It could very well be that someone just swapped it out before you go it if you didnt buy it new. It is a direct swap.

I bought it $400...put new windshield and rear window($600 ). Also put new struts on it...the car runs awsome with zero vtc tick but no power after warm up(ks). I already got the sensor but I am still collecting the rest of the parts that can be changed during the replacement-valve covers(oem for $13 shipped ),vacum hoses and ect. I also got in the mail a strut bar($10 shipped ) and a friend of mine hooked me up with a new K&N stock replacement, ball joints, plugs and a few more goodies. Last but not least I put in a double din bose out of a 95 in it with brand new rear bose 6x9s. Pretty much the car is coming togather really nice and I can't be happier. Thank you for a great deal

P.S.
everybody is hot about the armrest, huh? Well, I need suspension bushings/rods. If anybody has anything unused laying around I wouldn't really mind trading...let me know...

Where are you getting replacement valve covers for $13??? Also where did you get the Bose 6x9's new? Regarding the armrest, I have some very new (About 2000 Miles) rear "Ingalls" control arms with Poly Bushings. I got them from Internetautomart for $95 shipped. I will sell them really cheap for a trade on the armrest.

Sorry, I meant valve cover gaskets which I got from ebay. The 6x9 bose speakers were also bought from ebay for $50 shipped. I might be seriously interested in your offer though. PM me a price please when you get a chance shipped to 55438. Thanks!
