Shifter assembly

Hey has anyone replaced their shifter assembly? On my max the rubber bar that stabilizes the shifter and makes sure that gears mess properly has broken. I can get into all gears expect 2nd smoothly. I know it will just get worse until I replaced the assembly. Does anybody have a cost of the replacement? can I just replace the rubber bar, or does the whole assembly need to be replaced? Instructions are appreciated also. Thanks

Some people have welded a peice of metal in place of that rubber bar, but I would not do so unless you have upgraded motor mounts.

When I did the swap I noticed mine had a crack in it, but it doesn't hurt anything. To get it out of the car you must take off the cat. shield and unscrew 4 bolts holding it in as well as disconnect it from the tranny.

yea just got the replacement shifter assembly, will take a picture so others will be able to see. no simple way to replace the rubber bridge it is all one assembly. So the only fix is to swap out entire assembly!!!!

Did you have to buy the whole assembly or just the rubber bar?

PLEASE DO NOT:

It only makes stuff worst.

I posted the part number for jkmay01 on another thread he or someone else posted. Although you would think it may be expensive because you have to get it from the dealer its only about $35 or so.
