VE balks at a stop while in gear
I noticed the 92 SE auto balks now and then after coming to a stop. The engine rpm will go down to about 400 - 500 and then back to 800 and so on. I think the idle may be too low. Any ideas? How do you adjust the idle on the VE engine? Any FAQ's for that? Thanks.

I too have noticed this. I would like the answer as well.
Jeff92SE?
I think our cars actually have two idle control. One to maintain the idle speed and one to keep the car from stalling. The 2nd one is kicking in. I would say something is wrong w/ the Aux Air Idle Controls circuit. Check all vaccuum lines around the Throttle body and check to see if the tiny aux air hole right in front of the TB plate is clear. You might want to consider cleaning the TB if it hasn't been cleaned before.
I've had a chance to investigate the problem. Like a switch, this VE is running very poor. It putters, so to speak. It's almost like it's misfiring. You can feel the pulsation from inside the car, like a constant shake. From outside, you can hear it through the muffler, it's just not smooth. What do you think it could be?
It could be a host of things:
bad/old spark plugs
old/clogged fuel filter
one or more bad coils
bad connection to the coils
bad ccs sensor
bad temp sensor
clogged cat
bad o2 sensor
dirty TB
bad maf
bad connection to the maf
clogged pcv valve
low battery
bad ground somewhere.
bad alignment of the moon and stars.
It's just too hard to tell w/o some decent information on what the car's maintanence history is.

Thanks Jeff. I noticed you didn't put "fuel injector" on there. They must not be a common item to go out on the VE. Someone mentioned them being $300!
What is the ccs? Are these problems you list ones you've heard of for the VE? For these particular symptoms?
