Car is hard to start.

Hello,

I just finished installing some used fuel injectors. The car started up right away at the first few starts. The car ran pretty well. I drove it around a couple of miles and parked it. The idle seemed kind of high so I adjusted the A.A.C. valve. Then, I turned off the car and went to start it a couple of hours later and now it is hard to start. I have to contantly crank the engine and push the gas to get it started. Once started a cloud of greyish smoke comes out of the exhaust and runs smooth. The only thing is that it idles around 1200 rpm. What could be the problem? I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks.

Do I need to adjust the TPS sensor when I put it back on? I am thinking that the TPS sensor is not adjusted and is causing the car from starting up. How would I have to adjust the TPS sensor?

You hook a ohm meter to two of the progs and adjust the angle of the sensor until the meter reads 0 ohms I think correct me if I am wrong guys

Did you take off or rotate the Throttle Position Sensor? If not then it shouldn't need adjusting. If you did, look at the writeup on this at the Autozone site (starts at 1994 Maxima, but should be similar).
How far did you adjust the AAC? Can you backtrack and reset it where it was? Perhaps the high idle was a quirk, and now the idle is set too low.

Anybody have a picture of where the TPS is located? And any instructions on how to remove/replace. The garage said they think mine is going bad, but didn't know where/how to replace. Thanks for any information.

I did take the TPS sensor out. I guess it will need some adjusting.

This problem seems to be worse when the engine is hot. When it is cold, the engine starts right up but hesitates. I have to give it some gas, and then it will start to idle smoothly. It blows out a cloud of blackish smoke and idles at around 1200 rpm.

Does a improperly adjusted TPS cause this problem? I am not getting a check engine light but how about a bad oxygen sensor. Thanks.

Now the car does not start whether it is cold or hot. I started to crank the engine and the engine was getting flooded with fuel. So I took the fuel pump fuse out and ran the car and it started up. I then put the fuse back and it was running rough and idle down. It seems like the engine is getting fuel. Any ideas what could be the problem?

I had a leaking radiator and ended up fixing it. The problem is now gone. I guess the engine was getting hot but the ECU was thinking the engine was cold and flooded the engine making the car hard to start. Now, I just have to fix the rough idle when the engine is cold. Thanks.

sounds to me there is something either something is wrong with the pump or you got too much gunges in your fuel lines so it's clogging up.
