Do the eurospec units you have use an all-chrome housing? If so, I would say the older version looks beter with a black car.

Eh. I personally like them. They make the clear cornors blend more with the car. the projectors are 100 x better than the us spec. and i paid 80$ shipped for em with bulbs. but i did ask others opinions:-D

Is it that much harder to do the euro spec lights compared to the old US?

IMO the old looks better on black car, just tint the corners and call it good. Buuuut your opinion does weigh in more on your car.

I like the light output much better but dont like the chrome. I would have painted them black. It does indeed match the stock or clear corners better but thats why the UK (or mine if you cant find UKs) corners look so good up against the E36 lights.

i think either way they fit like a$$, so why spend the extra money to have it stick out. even dumber would be to buy glass ones to do plastic wade covers with. i was happy with my factory plastic ones. if bmw felt it was good enough for the e36 then it's damn good for a maxima.

btw, yours looked the best

Well you know if "I" did it that it wouldnt stick out . I have a set of DEPO projectors that the guy cut the back out really bad so I took the projector out and put it in my USDM lights. They look pretty good and will have a good cut off for HIDs if I ever decide to put them in. I am pretty happy with the factory light and the 9007 conversion though.

I've never been a huge fan of how the E36 lights look but take that with a grain of salt . I think James and Michaels did the best job but it's a decent amount of work.

I wanted to retrofit projectors into the stock housings but never got around to it .

A few days ago I drove my Dad's 740i with 6000k HID's on the Sea-To-Sky highway in British Columbia at night and man o man, those beam patterns/amount of light are going to make me absolutely hate getting behind the wheel of my own car .

I like Danny's idea of taking the new clear OEM style lights, then putting the e36s behind the clear glass. Preferably, black background projectors. That would be the best of both worlds. Of course, it would likely be the most expensive, too.

Add to that either real UK corners or the excellent copies that Michael paints and that's about as good as you could expect with e36s.

Luckily, I haven't driven my car at night in months (I think I have used the headlights about 6 times in the last 2-3 years), so I don't have to worry about which headlights I have.

Heres another one, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=280026293863

Again, black w/wavy lenses and CCFL.

And of course, the DEPO brand.

Here is a good source for lights. BUT, alot of them are the cheap **** ones with the faked out Angel eyes, utilizing 3 LEDs (looks like) to try to illuminate an entire ring of faceted clear plastic.. http://www.newircusers.com/store/rk2...hts_Corner.jsp

Personally, I think the black back looks best on any color.

I guess those with non-turbo VGs have nothing else to look forward to except exterior mods.
