I have a dilemma...

Hello,

I have a 1990 maxima se from TX with zero rust, new timing belt, new suspension, excellent tires,cd player, dis. cap,wires...you get the pic. The car is an auto and has 155k on it. It needs and injector replaced(no biggie) and an alignment. The tranny went on the car but I put another one from my other maxima which had roughly 175k. Bought for $250

Recently I found a 92 se with 130k,non-ticking vtcs',perfect mechanical condition, 5spd,black leather in mint cond. The car has hail damage with broken windshield, rear window and sunroof. The rest of the body is in excellent shape with very little rust starting to form here and there.Price- $500obo.

I know I can sell the vg for over 1000$ in a day(it's really clean). Glass for the ve will be $600 installed. Which one would you go for?

minnesota little rust or texas little rust?

I have texas little rust on mine, john (colombianmax) has minnesota little rust on his.

you should be able to get 1k for the VG as long as you have paperwork to prove maintenance.

well, personally I'd take the VE, because i'd want the mow powah.
and it will probably take a couple of years for the rust to eat it anyhow

well, although the VE is clearly more powerful, if you wanted to take the time and effort to swap the 5-speed to the VE, that would be my advice just because the body is rust-free (everything but the engine would swap into the VG)...but if you are a true speed junkie and don't care how the car looks (I do to some extent), fix up the VE-5.

hmmm.....I'd stick with what I know and have been maintaining along the way. Even if you get more power, your car is rust free and believe me I would love to have a rust free car. Even if I fix my rust, it always comes back! I would not sell my car if it still runs good. If VE 5 Speed were not invented would you be satisfied with you car ? I know some will say why settle for less but that's my opinion. Most of my buddies would love to have my car and have the reliability of it, the looks of it and comfort. When you compare yourself to other cars (Non-VE) your are generally better off!

I'd try to keep both to have the best of both worlds but how the hell can VE glass be so expensive? isnt it the same as VG?

Keep them both or keep the VE-5 and just be glad you got a hold of one.

Wel, I decided to go ahead and get the VE. He gave it away for $400. On the way here I noticed that ........... there is not a single problem with it The only thing I would like to change are the struts(already have them). Here are some pics from 10min ago. The interior is in great condition. I'll post some pics as soon as I clean it up and have the new glass installed tomorrow...Thank you for all your input...

holy shiznit dude, I'm so tempted to like...offer you 1k for it if we were to get money from the recent accident. It would be a direct replacement as its the same color as the recently crashed maxima and with a nice upgrade to VE.
Well enough about us, congratulations on your find. Would you let it go for 1k?
