Dropping suspension upgrade on my max? I'm not sure...Tell me if its worth it.

ok, So I wanna do Tien H-techs and some illuminas. OR H&R with illuminas... either way, I am thinking of wanting to do it because $800($290 H-techs +$540 for Ills) or so bucks don't seem to bad of a deal for better handling, better looks and better launches. The ills are the best price I found but the Htechs are from Teins site... Anyway...here's my dilemma...

1. I don't know how long I will have my max for, had it for a year and a half and I love the thing, but I might be moving to cali b4 the winter cause I don't think there is anything for me over here anymore.

2.165k miles... needs 2 new axles soon(boots ripped and just started to click on turns), rear calipers are grabbing more then they should and AC compressor clutch needs replacement. and I guess a new clutch when ever I feel like it, but it only slips and smells a little when I am racing on her hard. I also got an EGR SES light and a few other codes... like the pointless IAT sensor error... anyway.. Its getting me about 15mpg or so and it sucks (calipers are causing it)...

3.Don't have the money right now (maybe end of summer), and I don't know If I have a place to do it because I live in an apartment, and my house that I used to live in is getting foreclosed... so no driveway.

4. I don't have a spring compressor, So does anyone sell these loaded new? Or should I buy used?

5. Don't want to pay labor for something I know how to do...

6. Do you think these will look good with stock SE rims? I have Yokohama VF4s for tires but there not low pro(Cause that would just lookk retarded with stock suspension lol)

Anyway to make a long story short... This is how I am with any major upgrade... lol... What do u think guys? Other then those issues, my max is rather mint inside and out for a 10year old car... (see pics) and a rare one with my options around here.

1. If you need a change of scenery, go for it.

2. Rear calipers and axles should be fixed first. You don't have extra money because of the extra gas your spending on. Get the calipers fixed and you'll have more money for mods.

3. Abandoned parking lots are plentiful.

4. Rent for free from Advance or Autozone

5. Smart move!

6. It would look great with the five spokes. Go for it.

u should shop around. Also look into KYB AGX's if you want cheaper struts that IMO are just as good and also adjustable. I bought AGX's and s-techs for 300 bucks new. So def look around for deals on forums, craigslist, etc.

thx for the link gatsugansu... o and KYBs AGXs are just as good and cheaper? damn both srings and Struts for $300? or $300 each? Cause the cheapest I found so far is... $420 with shipping for Ills and $197 for S techs shipped... So thats $617... Is there anything else I need? Like new mounts or does it come with everything?

I think you will need new mounts/bushings/boots. The part numbers are in the 4th gen suspension sticky.
