fog light re-wire help

So I am following this DIY guide for re-wiring the foglights to come on with your parking lights: http://www.geocities.com/bracecraig/...ewire.html#fog

I went ahead and cut the wire under the relay (red/yellow) taped off the red/yellow going into the harness, and put a wire nut on the red/yellow going into the relay with the new wire. I fished the wire through and tapped into the red/yellow wire on the parking light harness. I tried out the fogs and they don't come on. I tried the red/white wire and still nothing.

I know the foglights work because they worked this morning when I remounted them from the broken mounting bolts I had to re-drill out.

What am I doing wrong??

Edit: Thin wire was used from Alpine speakers and wire taps were not touching any metal. Used thicker wire and works fine.

Maybe the fog lights are not making ground correctly?
Check your fuses also or spliwire/bad connection, all can have an effect
