I have a '92 GXE in good condition with 114K miles on it. The car burns no oil, gets excellent MPG (26-28 MPG). However, there's just one thing I cannot figure out since I had this car since a couple of years ago.

I can feel the engine vibrations through the steering wheel at idle. While it's minimal when the transmission is in D, it's very noticeable when in N. If I rev the engine in Neutral or Park, I notice the vibrations slowly start subsiding and are completely gone by 2600 RPM.

When I am actually driving the car, there are no problems (no hesitation, lag, or anything of that nature) or any shaking from the engine at all.

I drive this car 28 miles daily on 80% freeway.

If I standout and listen to the exhaust note, it seems to miss everyonce in a while but the plugs are always normal. I am suspecting a bad EGR valve. Anybody else experience the same problem?

I drive this car 28 miles daily on about 80% freeway.

Thanks in advance

if it drives fine, i don't think there's anything wrong with the car. you probably just need to adjust your idle. trouble shooting is hard without actually seeing the car in person so don't get pissed at me if i'm wrong.

I removed the EGR valve today and tested it along with EGR control solenoid valve. Both worked fine. Back to square one. Idle is per specs (750 rpm), just a little shakey as mentioned.

Did you check the plug wires and cap for cracks, tears, off alignment, etc? That might be the problem. Also check the fuel filter..
