Fuel pump gone ? Cause its not worth fixing

[Car in sig]......Since the exhaust came down, I have not driven my Max for about three months. Just have'nt needed a second car. But now it won't start.

Checked fuses....Good.
Spark....Got it.
Compression....Good.

So, I pulled the fuel line off of the filter[on the firewall], turned they key 'On' while watching the filter....Nothing. It was then that I recall[or did'nt recall] hearing the initial 2 second 'fuel pump pressurizing' sound. So I figure, this can't be good. Is there anything else before I know for sure, its the pump ?

--> New fuel pump $250-$300 +install ?
--> New exhaust[Cat back] $300 +install ?

Okay, $600-$800 is not a bad overall cost if the car was not:
1--> Rusty underneath [enough that I really would'nt want to do the exhaust myself.]
2--> P/Window behavior just beginning to be ..well...odd.
3--> Ignition key does stick a little sometimes.
4--> Brake pedal/Floor shifter lock not in sync[need manual button at bottom of shifter].
5--> Biggest reason, It's the wifes car, and she don't want it.

It's really unfortunet because car only has 120k mi on it. Timing belt, camshaft, seals were changed[have reciept] at about 114k [runs smooth, I love listening to that engine run]. Auto tranny has never acted up. Interior is in great condition, Non-Bose system is fabulous.

I know I will not put $600-$800 into this car[see #5 above]. So I will part it out before putting money into it.

But first, could the problem NOT be the fuel pump at this stage ?

well window regulator's / motors are easy as all heck to fix. the manual shifting button problem is usualy from people spilling coffee or soda in the shifter area and it gum's up the switch. (happened to me when i bought my car from my father). check the pressure of the pump. also check the fuses for the fuel pump in the trunk of your car. I was working on my custom sub enclosure I'm constructing and I noticed the connections for the fuel pump stuff in the trunk area were pretty nasty so I cleaned em. Hope any of this crap helped.

Bondo trick....No

Few responses:

Maybe after doing it once/twice. I think drilling is involved.

the manual shifting button problem is usualy from people spilling coffee or soda in the shifter area
Nope cleaned mine. It is a grounding contact in that area though.

check the fuses for the fuel pump in the trunk
Will do shortly, did'nt know there was any back there. I saw wire though. I guess I'll trace 'em

center trunk piece :: did you do the ghey bondo trick?
I hope not !

Here is the front speakers are wonderfully rigged[if that's possible]:

the fuel pump is easy to do, just remove the back seat.
I recommend checking the relay and the fuel pump harness before condemning the car.

'Tis true. Only the right rear lens though[AFAIK]. Is this wrong?. I am the second owner, first owner's daughter backed into truck bumper. Carfax is clean.

These are great cars. The thought of not having it really bums me out. Hopfully it is the relay

Will update tomorrow.

I alot about $600 a year per car for things to fix with my cars. I have 2 G3. That is still less than new car prices. Yeah, you get the big hit one once in a while, but look at the cost/benfit. What will a new one truely cost you per year?
