Pics of Clean and Sweet Engine Bays?
Hey All. I'm looking to finally get under the hood (and the car, for that matter) and get the Max cleaned up, especially in the engine bay. Eventually I want to polish the Intake and paint the valve covers, along with nice wirelooms, grounding wires, blue NGK wires, new paint, matching battery color (blue) and tie down, radiator and oil cap, etc. I just got a used PR CAI that I had a friend airbrush dark blue with lightning patterns running along it. I'll post pics once I get it installed.
I was thinking it would be nice to see other member's engine bay pics and descriptions of what they did to clean up and/or make their engine bays look (and perform) top notch.
So, let's see 'em. As soon as I get mine cleaned up in the next few days, I'll post pics. It's been way too long, so this is it.

thanks...mrkanda you have a VG so yours will not look like mine or mygreenmax's but I will include some pics of mine anyway. DanNY has a nicely done VG with polished intake and PC valve covers along with some chrome...very nice.
anyway here are my pics so you dont have to dig through my thread.

Awsome engine, Michael, and actually, I did "bother" and already read through the whole thread on your engine bay project. VERY impressive! I wish I had the time and an awsome mentor like you to show me "how it's done". And as a reply to your VG-related post, I will look at DanNY's. I think I saw someone else's, I think on CarDomain, with a polished IM. I eventually want to do a turbo (maybe engine-) swap, so I'll follow the guys who've done it before me 
(btw, how do you guys do all those cool smiley faces?)

anybody have any tips on how to clean an ol vg up? especially need to figure out how to get all the dried up rust that my radiator spewed everywhere when it went bye bye...i even tried gojo and it didnt work lol

I used corse wire brush on le drill then fine...its not nice and chromed like DanNY's here but its pretty spotless and I usually get a lot of admiration from shops and some people who've seen my engine. I usually get "wow I havent seen one of these this clean before"
So if you want just a clean engine, degrease it and (pressure) hose it down, then close hood and leave car on so water dries without leaving waterspots all over the place then just use the wire on the drill thing nice and evenly to get a decent clean look. I'll try to post le pics.
For degreaser I prefer Greased Lightning - Orange Blast, man that spray does wonders (keep away from paint unless you wanna de-wax also)

as a matter of fact i have a pic of my old '89 SE engine bay after i swapped in my old '93 engine into it:
this is the cleanest i was able to get it after i swapped it into my old '89. my '93 looks a bit better though but i just have to find the pics.

aight. My cold air intake is actualy a conversion from a 93 accord CAI. u lose .25" diameter but its 80$ cheaper in parts then the Warpspeed CAI. I do not have a write up but I can do one for you if you want. also it is under my headlight bracket. :-p thanks for ?
