If I am correct it should not be to hard to bypass. Once you unplug the harness from the rear deck speakers, It has 4 wires 2 are power for the amps and the other 2 are the pos and neg singal for the speaker . I am just not sure which is which . Just use a 12 volt test light to determine which are power wires. Good luck and let me know how it goes

BOSE power?

I have replacement Clarion 6x9's and they are running through the stock Bose amps back there, but they sound like ****. I'd like to know how to bypass them too - and also, what is the rated power of the Bose amps? Anyone know? Because I have a Xplod 50x4 deck, hopefully if I get it hooked up right they'll suond better...right?

I ended up having the guys at best buy do it for me. Turns out it was pretty much a waist of 30 bucks. All they did was run new speaker wire from the back of the head unit back to the speakers. which is much easier than farting around with the old wires if you ask me.

Yes, replacing the rear speakers wires is a snap, and probably easier if you don't know how to bypass the amp. You could probably follow the wire harness back from the trunk to the deck and look for the black and brown heavy gauge (about 16AWG I think) wires. Connect one pair to the deck, and the other to your speakers. I've never done it, though.

However, replacing the front speaker wires is a real pain in the butt! I'm in the process of rewiring my entire stereo system, and it's becoming more and more of a pain. If any of you guys are interested, please let me know and I'll post up pictures. I plan on taking some tomorrow, and more as I progress through the project. I've learned quite a bit while attempting to change all of the stock Bose components.
