facelift possibility?

OOOkay. so i was browing the intraweb last night checking out some mad tyte jdm cars and came across a 1988 nissan cefiro. i am in love with this car. now from the amount of research i did.. i THINK that this A31 cefiro and our maximas are pretty similar. i know for sure that the infinity I and 4G max are the same as a A32 cefiro. so logically this makes sense. NOW, if i can ever find a bumper/grille/fenders/headlights from an a31 ceffy.. how close would these parts bolt up to my max? and i dont want any "with money anything is possible" BS.
thank you

The headlights look pretty similar to the E36's, just with an extra something near the grill. Finding some blacked out corners would probably give you a pretty similar look if you could find a grill and body kit that matches.

If you can ahold of a front clip. Do it. But don't just throw in the headlights and center piece... Seen it half done... Twice. I really like the look.

You may can get the bumper, headlights, grill, and modify the fenders.

hmmm. im really set on doing this. it seems like something pretty unique imo. the only problem i would see is actually finding the parts. i just looked on ebay and nothing came up.. so i guess my only option would be finding a jdm importer from the west/east coast and having them find a clip for me.

I googled the cefiro and it really looks to me like a swap from a third gen max to one of those would be akin to turning a cavalier into a sunfire. I'm no expert though, just an observation. It just looks like different fenders/lights/etc to me. Then again, the pic you showed definitely has a kit on it and I'd never even heard of a cefiro before now. So, happy hunting.

I searched and the pictures have been deleted from the thread that had the swap. Its not a simple swap jlars I promise. its more to it thank making a cavalier a sunfire.

Being in Canada, you might be able to scour the country looking for a wrecked A31 Cefiro, being as they can import those cars directly now. It would be easier up there than in the states.

Or you can just buy a Cefiro...

I know there is one for sale up in BC posted on NWNissans for $3500 CAN:

They have dem der clear-like head lamps fer ouwer maxipad tooen.

See how hard that was to read? Try using full sentences and get internet explorer 7 or Firefox 2, they spell check your posts automatically.

Yes it'd look retarted on the 4th gen, but maybe not on the 3rd gen if it was done right.

well the silvia kit isnt that expensive if i were to go that route. plus it IS basically the same thing. id still be using max corners unless i fab something to make the light housings smaller...i will continue to think about it. and as for that cefiro for sale... i promised myself i would never sink down to a 4 cyl again lol. aaand i bet the insurance on a turbo car is sky high, plus he didnt say if it was a slushbox or not but i guess that gives me reason to do do a swap

imo, the maxima is a much better looking car than the cefiro from all angles. if anything, what you should be doing is a maxima front end conversion on a cefiro, not the other way around. i like the a31 but when it comes down to looks, the max takes it. much nicer interior, more complete looking body. the cefiro lights do actually look pretty cool if done right but it's pretty difficult to get them looking like they should be there. it's funny this thread popped up because i had been looking at some a31 lights the other day. if they came with a grille i might have bought them but they don't, plus the guy's feedback is a little sketchy, reports of damaged items and poor packaging. here's the link anyway: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ype=osi_widget

why spend your money on cefiro headlights if you want to upgrade the look of your car get yourself some r34 headlights and do that conversion much more of a conversion worth having done IMO.

I've been looking for r34 headlight for a long time. Can't find any.

That might be why he's not doing it.

But anyway, about the cefiro's.

Do it, or just talk about it.

An RB20DET is a Iron block straight 6 DOHC turbo engine. Swap in an RB25 for more displacement and a more reliable engine and bigger turbo and your at a kick **** starting point.
